Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz Welcome First Child

The first child of Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz has arrived! All Simpson fans may now rejoice at the newest addition to the musically gifted family.

The child of Ashlee and Pete arrived Thursday, November 20, 2008, as reported by People Magazine. Ashlee gave birth to the healthy baby Bronx at Cedars Sinai Medical Centre, the same hospital where unstable popstar Britney Spears received treatment for her mental health problems.

The child, a healthy baby boy, was named Bronx Mowgli Wentz. The baby's middle name, Mowgli, is a fictional character from the Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and The Second Jungle Book. He weighed in at 7 lbs., 11 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long.

"Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!" a spokesperson told press .

The couple is expected to sell pictures of the baby to a celebrity magazine within the next few months.

Ashlee Simpson is the younger sister of pop star and tabloid fixture Jessica Simspon and is an actress and popstar in her own right. She is also famous for a lip synching performance on Saturday Night Live in 2004.

Pete Wentz is the bass player and main lyricist for the band Fall Out Boy. His band's third album, titled Folie A Deux, is set for release on December 16.

Ashlee Simpson married Pete Wentz in a May 17, 2008 Alice in Wonderland themed ceremony amid a flurry of baby rumors. The pregnancy was officially announced a few weeks after their wedding.

When writing about starting their very own family, Pete Wentz previously wrote on his blog, "We wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."

The couple has been gaining insight on parenting from friends and celebrity couple Joel Madden and Nicole Ritchie.

Does the happy couple plan on having adding any more children to their music empire?

"I would love to have a big family one day," Ashlee Simpson-Wentz told People Magazine . Added Pete Wentz: "A big soccer team or a band!"

So be on the lookout for the up and coming band (or perhaps soccer team) of Wentz children. They are sure to be sensational considering the musical gifts of their parents.
