Ashley Biden & Potfest the Movie: What is the Week Coming To?

It looks like, this year, Spring is bringing drug fever. I opened my inbox this morning to discover that drugs have made the headlines twice today: Joe Biden's daughter, Ashley Biden was caught snorting coke, and the much anticipated Potfest movie is on its way to coming out. Wow. Republicans get out of office and the nation is ready to let their hair down. I like it.

Ashley Biden Likes Nose Candy

I break into a big smile every time I think about the poetic justice. According to the New York Post, The daughter of the man who coined the term "drug czar" and was an integral participant in the formulation of the draconian drug laws of the 1980s has a daughter who snorts cocaine. Correction. He has a dull-witted daughter who snorts cocaine.

Using cocaine in the first place is a bad idea. Letting yourself be filmed, at a party, while doing it is just ...well, something that a high person does. Apparently, Ashley Biden let herself be filmed for 43-minutes while she snorted coke, talked about her father, Vice-President Joe Biden, and complained that the lines she was snorting weren't long enough. And she knew she was being filmed by a 'friend', but she was probably too high on cocaine to wonder why.

And that's unfortunate, because the video hit the market so fast that she must have driven straight for her lawyer's office to wait in the parking lot until he got to his office at 9 a.m. The friend and her lawyer, Thomas Dunlap offered the video to The New York Post which refused to pay for the video (which brings up all sorts of 'bias' issues that I'm not comfortable with) so now it is on the open market amidst what it would be hyperbole to call a bidding war.

Initially, Ashley Biden's friend wanted $2 million dollars for the video. But she soon discovered that political dirt will never be as valuable to the American public as celebrity dirt. The price quickly dropped to $400,000 and so far, two publications have offered them $225,000. Probably not the pay day she was looking for. But, no matter. Ashley Biden's friend has made it known that she has many more videos of Miss Biden up to shenanigans and lots of dirt on her. Ouch.

Potfest the Movie

I think its awesome that this movie started out as a joke. Broken Lizard, the guys who made Super Troopers and Beerfest. And fans of Beerfest will remember the promise of a Potfest movie that was found during its credits. Well, Potfest the movie was just a joke. But, the fan response to the joke was overwhelming, and now they're considering making the movie. An animated movie, according to Top Buzz. Yup, the sequel to Beerfest will feature pot-smoking cartoons. You don't see that everyday.
