Ashley Greene Nude Photo Scandal: "Twilight" Star is the Next Sexual Photo Trend

Just Another Nude Teen Photo Scandal

Rochelle Connery
Goodbye Erin Andrews and Vanessa Hudgens. Hello Ashley Greene, the most recent target of a nude photo scandal that hit the internet today and is already causing quite the buzz.

Twilight starlet Ashley Greene is just another young lady in the lineup of celebrities whose nude pictures have surfaced on the internet. Bubbles of Erin Andrews' nude peephole videos have barely settled down to a simmer and the world is instantly blessed with the nude photo scandal featuring Ashley Greene.

Like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Greene is an attractive, dark-haired film star on her way to the big time. Who knows who really surfaced these nude photos of Ashley Greene. For Vanessa Hudgens, it was a presumed ex-boyfriend who broke the bandwidth with less than tasteful pictures of a naked Vanessa Hudgens. This time, we don't know yet who's responsible, but the infamous Perez Hilton apparently got first dibs on the 22-year-old's pictures and put them on his website soon thereafter.

News of the photo scandal comes just after Ashley Greene and several of her Twilight costars won awards at the 2009 Kids Choice Awards. She snagged the award for Choice Fresh Face Female, a win which is pretty impressive considering her newfound stardom.

Naturally, Ashley Greene's attorneys are in a flurry to get the photos removed from websites and are in the process of taking legal action against, well, whoever put them online in the first place, I guess. Not that they'll suffer too much as a result. According to Right Celebrity, the photos are still online if you look hard enough, but be warned, they're NSFW, a.k.a. Not Safe For Work.

So what do you think? I don't know how old Ashley was at the time these were taken, but if they're pictures worthy enough of a volcanic Google Trend search, my guess is that she was pretty familiar with puberty. That means - you guessed it - that she knew better than to take (or permitted the taking) of nude photos of herself.

Perhaps we should step back and look at the situation. Why would an individual take nude photos? To impress a boyfriend? To get revenge on a boyfriend? To impress modeling scouts? To "break out" into the entertainment business? Whatever the reason, I don't know of anyone who has not regretted their lapses in judgment when it comes to unprofessionally undressing in front of the camera.

On the flip side, the nude photo scandal didn't work out too poorly for Vanessa Hudgens. A little apology (and quite a bit of leg work from Disney), and she's back with Zac Efron on her way to even bigger stardom. Unfortunately, it seems to take a nude photo scandal to launch one's way up to the top these days.

So how can you avoid nude pictures slipping into the hands of say, your ex-boyfriend, your employer, or dare I say, your mother? First of all, don't take them. If the temptation arises for whatever reason, whether it be peer pressure or something else, do yourself a favor and think of how you'll feel when someone pulls them up on your MySpace page someday. Remember, things are hard to delete permanently off the internet once they're on. You might not be able to find them, but Perez Hilton will.
