Ashley Greene Sort of Slams Demi Lovato in Teen Vogue

Ashley Greene's lovely face appeared on the March 2011 issue of Teen Vogue. The headline for her article states "Twilight's Ashley Greene on Her Red-Hot Romance" Currently Ashley Greene is involved in relationship with Joe Jonas, a young man who has been the subject of much discussion since his former girlfriend Demi Lovato ended up in rehab in late 2010 for emotional and physical issues (Associated Content).

Multiple websites have suggested that Ashley Greene appearing at Jonas Brothers tour dates in Mexico to visit Joe Jonas helped complicate Demi Lovato's fragile state of mind as she was also a performer on the tour (omg! from Yahoo!). At the point in time that this occurred, Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas' relationship had only been terminated for a few months while Ashley Greene appeared on the scene with Jonas almost immediately after their break-up.

The Teen Vogue article also touched on this late summer 2010 love triangle. It reported that Demi Lovato "checked into rehab after reportedly making threats against Ashley." These threats coupled with the now infamous altercation with a tour back-up dancer made rehab a logical choice for Demi.

So, what's new? What did Ashley Greene offer up in Teen Vogue this month?

In the interview accompanying her Teen Vogue cover story, Ashley Greene felt compelled to comment on the state of the stable of stars employed by Disney, both past and present, despite the fact that Demi Lovato was supposed to be an off-limit topic of conversation.

While she did not directly reference Demi Lovato in her commentary, Ashley Greene stated to Teen Vogue, "Plenty of Disney kids are perfectly normal and love what they do. But you always hear about the people who aren't doing well. It's kind of like the squeaky wheel."

This comment does not say anything negative per se, but it does suggest that there are Disney "kids" who are the antithesis of "perfectly normal" and that these people are the exception...that they are somehow weak and different, like a squeaky wheel.

One could suggest that Ashley was only praising boyfriend Joe Jonas, but if this were the case, she could have specifically praised him by name instead of generalizing about such a hot topic.

Ashley Greene would have been better off not speaking on Disney actors or actresses at all as her comments seem a bit too much like salt in the wound of Demi Lovato's rehab stay and current rehabilitation efforts instead of a sincere reflection on child stardom and the Disney talent stable.
