We all know Aspirin can be used for headaches, sore joints, arthritis pains and heart disease. But there are more uses to this tiny white pill than you may know! Here are some tips for other uses of aspirin in our daily lives!
- Charge a dead car battery! The acetylsalicylic acid in the aspirin pills will combine with the battery's sulfuric acid to produce one last charge! Make sure you use that charge to go buy a new battery though! This does not always work, but we have done it with success in the past!
- Cure for Pimples! Crush one or two aspirin and mix with a bit of water to make a paste. Place this paste over the offending splotch. Wash off after 3-5 minutes. The redness, swelling and overall size will decrease!
- Does your hair turn green when you get out of the swimming pool? Dissolve about 8 aspirin in a cup of warm water and rub it all over your hair. Leave on for 15 minutes. This should return your hair to its normal color!
- Just realized there are ugly yellow perspiration stains on your favorite white shirt? No problem! Mix two aspirin in ½ cup warm water. Set the mixture on the stain for three to four hours. Wash as you normally would. Ta-Da! The stains are now history!
- Dandruff can be remedied with aspirin as well! Simply mix two tablets in with the normal amount of shampoo you use to wash your hair. Do this during each shampoo and it will help treat and prevent dandruff!
- Make cut flowers last longer! Crush one tablet and put it in the vase with the water, then add your flowers! Remember to change the water every couple of days and repeat the aspirin treatment!
- Treat Calluses! Crush 6 aspirin into powder. Mix with ½ teaspoon of lemon juice and ½ teaspoon of water. Apply to the calloused area and wrap with a warm towel. Then wrap saran wrap over the towel. Stay off your feet for 15 minutes. Remove the saran wrap and towel and use a pumice stone to file down the calluses! Works like a charm!
- Treat Insect Stings! Mosquito bites and bee stings are part of summer life! Next time you get bitten, wet the area where the bite is. Rub and aspirin on top of it for a few minutes. This will help the swelling and pain associated with the bite!
