Assassin's Creed 2 Review

So, Assassin's Creed 2 is finally here. Today, I'm going to take a hard look at the game and determine whether it's as groundbreaking as they said it would be in this Assassin's Creed 2 Review. I mean, I think the game's going to be good, but I don't know if it's worth shelling out another fifty to sixty bucks for. After all, If they haven't added anything to the game play except new people to kill, I'd have to give it a no. Who wants to pay for a whole new game if you're just assassinating new people. Today, we'll find out if Assassin's Creed 2 is up to snuff with this Assassin's Creed 2 Review.

The first similarity reveals itself. The story starts in a very similar fashion to the first game. Assassin's Creed 2 takes place in multiple time lines, one of the modern day world, and one in an ancient world where "Desmond's" ancestors reside. All players who played Assassins' Creed One will know who Desmond is, so I'm not going to go into it here. Essentially, you'll spend time with Desmond and a few other characters throughout the game. Not much more going on here than that.

Let's get to the details. At first glance, Assassin's Creed 2 looks very good. The graphics are smooth, there are very few glitches and it really gives a sense of immersion to the game. Honestly, there are games out there with better graphics than Assassin's Creed, but something about these just...fit. Similarly to the first game, you'll find yourself swirling into a mystical realm where detail is everywhere to be found. Wall textures are great. The flora (or lacktherof) is believable and crisp, and overall it all fits very nicely. This is set apart from some of the newer games we've seen where backgrounds, character textures and environment details all look good, but don't quite "fit" together. Assassin's Creed 2 succeeds in this department.

My next point. This Assassin's Creed 2 Review needs to be descriptive, yet not too detailed. The fluidity and accuracy of human movement in this game is superb. Though the first Assassin's Creed was revered for this very same fact, it's been improved in Assassin's Creed 2. Jumping, Climbing and Running are easily achieved without too much burden to the player. The controls for these are sensitive but not hair trigger, and movement is quite fluid.

Assassin's Creed also boasts a pretty decent soundtrack. From moody atmospheric effects and tracks to bustling and booming action sequences, the music and audio in the game achieves it's goal, and falls just short of controlling your heartbeat while you're in the middle of a chase or tough objective.
Without going into every single detail of the game, I'd recommend Assassin's Creed 2 to any player that's wanting to have a "Sit-n-Go" gaming experience. Though the storyline didn't impress me much, the truth of the matter is...it doesn't have to if you're just looking to complete missions and relish in the stealth and sneakiness that the first game brought. If you're looking for the next good Role playing Game, keep looking. If you're looking for a nice, clean stealth action development, Assassin's Creed 2 might just whet your appetite. If you enjoyed this Assassin's Creed 2 Review, tell your friends and find out what they think!
