Find a Unique Basket
When you're searching for the perfect Easter basket, search around. Check discount stores, craft stores, bulk stores, garage sales and almost anywhere else you would shop, because the perfect Easter basket might be hiding around the next corner. So what IS the perfect basket to use? Think about the recipient. Does your favorite niece have a passion for all things lavender? A purple basket might be the perfect answer. Does your daughter have an obsession with rainbows? Find a rainbow-colored basket! Don't content yourself to find plain basket to use for all of your favorite kids - find baskets unique to each! If necessary, do get a plain basket, but spruce it up after a trip to your favorite fabric store, scrapbooking store or craft store. It can be sometimes be hard to find boyish baskets - so one idea would be to decorate a plain basket with props recognizing your favorite little boy's favorite pastimes or sports.
Fill with More than Candy
An instinct can be to buy every kind of candy in site on the shelves of your local grocery store and stuff your Easter baskets to the hilt. While your favorite little ones may enjoy the candy you buy, keep in mind that there are many other things you can use to say Happy Easter! How about little toys that will captivate your little one's attention while they're on a sugar high from all of the candy in their baskets? Yo-yos, jacks, card games and small stuffed animals fit well in baskets and provide an added dimension of fun to your Easter celebration.
Think about other trinkets or knickknacks your favorite little one might enjoy. Perhaps a special journal to a young teen girl, action toys for an active little boy or nearly anything else that might make their eyes light up on Easter morning. Picture stocking stuffers you would use for Christmas, give it a spring slant, and you'll have the perfect addition to your Easter basket.
Choose Candy Carefully
Remembering the three C's can save you trouble later. Remember that Easter candy is extremely high in sugar, and if your favorite little one still already tends to be highly energetic, they'll only be even more so after diving into to candy Easter morning. Picture the day after Halloween, but with warmer weather. When you're browsing through candy, try choosing an even mix of chocolates, hard candies and even gum - Chicklets are very yummy, but have way less sugar than your solid-chocolate bunny!
All in all, you can assemble the perfect Easter Basket by keeping your special little one in mind - pull together something so perfectly them and you'll be a popular Easter Bunny time and time again!
