Today, I was surfing around the internet and came across a hate letter about Associated Content. I don't mind saying that it really irked me to read this persons complaints. I've only been a member for a month and have already made money. Granted, I can't take my dream vacation yet, but they are paying me to write for them! This person was complaining that he had no experience writing articles and decided to give this free website a try. His short experience with AC did not pan out to be the GET RICH QUICK scheme he had hoped for. He complained that AC didn't pay him enough for his content. He said he had been promised a free gift and never received it. He said that AC plays favorites. He said a lot of things that are not true.
It is true that AC doesn't pay the big bucks, at least for me, not yet. Perhaps the big bucks come later when my articles improve. Perhaps the big bucks don't come at all. If this is the case and I continue to get low offers, I will still continue to produce for a couple of glaringly obvious reasons.
1) AC has more than 200K producers, many of which are accomplished, educated and talented. These producers offer me examples of their expertise every time I read a new article. In these pieces are tidbits of valuable information. Not only do I get to enjoy a well-written article, but I pick up how to format my own work better. I learn how I can make it more appealing. I learn what types of articles get the most views, which gives me an abundance of ideas to work with. So, the bottom line is not about the "bottom line." AC and its producers are teaching me how to be a better writer. These producers get paid more for their content because they contribute the most and are the best AC has to offer.
2) Where else can a newbie writer go and learn to hone their craft for free? Where else can a newbie go and get paid to write articles with NO experience? I have done my research and know which websites are scams and which are not. AC pays non-experienced writers to LEARN TO WRITE!
3) What are we gaining by writing articles for AC, besides monetary payment and training? We are gaining EXPERIENCE. Freelance journalism is a difficult gig, so for an inexperienced writer to get higher paying jobs is nearly impossible. Today, newspapers, magazines and publishers in general will not even speak to you unless you've had something published. AC offers us an opportunity to be published and to get paid in the process. The experience we gain on AC is invaluable and will give all writers an opportunity to put together a resume of published work and maybe land a great job in the process.
For those of us who crave to write, who couldn't go a day without jotting something down, this website is a winner. For those of us who are trying to break into the business, this website will provide a valuable beginning.
I have only one word of advice for those of you thinking about joining. Do not post junk. When you post, please read what you've written out loud and edit, edit, edit. You don't want the world to see stupid grammatical errors that could've been avoided. Once it's published you're stuck with it. If your article requires research, cite your references. Don't ever plagiarize! You will be banned if you do so and lose your credibility. Make sure you have your facts right. Unless you're writing about your own experience, opinion or editorial pieces, check you facts. If you do all the things I've mentioned you should have a very good experience.
For anyone who is still not convinced of the benefits of Associated Content, do me a favor. Join for FREE for one month. If you have a talent for writing, you'll earn money. If you don't and decide it isn't for you, at least you can say you tried...

Thanks alot. I thought this was the best place to get started, and it looks like I was right.
Fantastic. Out of all the paid sites out there to submit articles, I picked associated content to start out with. You can't beat upfront payment, page view payments and everyone openly sharing information and advice!
Hi. Nice article!
I love AC even tho the money is NOT good! Maybe if all of us wrote articles about it, we can get a nice raise or bonus! LOL
Really though, AC is a fine site indeed. I have my dislikes as well as my likes and loves of AC.
I am grateful for the money, service, care, and the way things are set up...oh, only I do NOT like the dark colors used on the site now, SMILES.
I write for other sites too, and I write as a ghost writer at the moment, getting better money than here, paid for each assignment.
Thanks so much!
Kat
You are fantastic! Also Correct. It does make you laugh a bit doesn't it.
I agree that AC does have it's benefits and making money is not one of them. I think they could pay more, but if people are willing to write for peanuts then that's what they get. The site can be advantageous to get your name out there and to help others.
