Associated Content Bought Me a Hot Tub

They say writing is developed through good use of tone and knowledge of one's audience. Excuse me if the tone of this article is "extremely relaxed," and my audience is "people who don't have a hot tub like me."

Prior to about twenty minutes ago, I was soaking in a hot-tub generated bliss, with a beer in one hand (though, by the way, you're not supposed to really be drinking in a hot tub, kids), feeling more hedonistic than Larry Flynt, but even better because I have feeling below my neck.

Sorry, that was pretty harsh. Ah, who cares. I've got a hot tub.

Since last year at about this time, I've been writing for Associated Content, and I've been writing a lot about pretty much anything I can get my hands on--emo kids, stop smoking aids, hard drives, gift ideas--and I've enjoyed nearly all of it. I write about different subjects to test and improve my abilities, and I love getting feedback from other writers, too. I've definitely grown as a writer, and, oh, yeah, I've got a frickin' HOT TUB in my BACK YARD.

Let me explain.

I've always enjoyed writing, and it's an integral part of my job, but I've never had a chance to explore the more creative avenues of it. Luckily, I found AC, and Associated Content has allowed me to do that, and get paid for it. I decided to put all my earnings into a fund for the Dream Maker X-100, a hot tub with beautiful, beautiful jets and a temperature of up to 104 smokin' degrees.

I've had some awesome success, to, with one of my articles read on the Howard Stern show, another linked on Howard Stern.com, several articles linked on Fark.com and on the front page of Digg, and interviews with famous cartoonists, web entrepreneurs such as Drew Curtis, and businessmen like Derek Sivers of CDBaby.com. But I'd have to say my best success has been the hot tub below my deck. I like to sit in it and flip off my neighbors, and invite hoards of sexy girls into it (they never actually get in, but hey, it's the effort that counts, right?).

So, thanks, Associated Content, for bringing my relaxation quotient way, way up. I'm submitting this celebratory article for no payment. This one's on me.

Now, I will be looking into a new guitar next year. Let's see what some Tutorials and Product Guides can do.
