Associated Content CP and More: Tweak's First AC Rant

As the title states, this is my first Associated Content rant. That doesn't mean it is the first rant I have posted on Associated Content, but the first rant that is exclusive to the AC website. I usually re-post rants from my MySpace blog, Tweak's Rants, but this one belongs here, and only here.

The first thing I want to rant about is Content Producer etiquette here on Associated Content. Immediately after I wrote and published an opinion article, The Time to Revolt is Upon Us, there were a few bullies that attacked and harassed me personally, through comments and messages, which wouldn't be that big of a deal if they did it with some maturity. They also decided it would be a good idea to attack anybody that left comments in agreement with my views. If you are going to leave a comment for fellow Associated Content CP's, it would be great for everyone if they were above a grade school level. Just attacking somebody doesn't make them look ignorant, it makes you look ignorant. There is also no need to attack people who leave comments since they will probably not return to the article after they leave their comment.

By saying that, I am not saying Content Producers shouldn't say anything if they don't have anything nice to say. I'm sure most Associated Content CP's would agree with me when I say that I would prefer some constructive criticism over fluffy, smoke-up-the-butt comment. All I'm asking is that people just try to make constructive and not just 'You Suck' type. And, while on the subject, while I do I appreciate all comments, and return all in favor, is it worth it to leave a cookie-cutter 'Good job' comment? If I see those, I return in like, since it does save time. LOL.

And finally, I've gotten a few messages about the pen name change. Yes, I switched from 'Tweak', to my real name, Joshua Cook. This was due to a fellow Content Producer who said something that made me think. He said a comment to the effect off, "Some people use pen names for anonymity." I never thought about it that way, but I guess that's a good point. I write so people know me and read what 'Joshua Cook' writes. So that is the reasoning behind the name change, to answer the messages I've gotten. Thanks for reading.

Until next time... Later.

'Good job' hehe. I kind of like the name Tweak. I'm in favor of anonymity for writers and commenters alike.

Wow! What a rant! And I am in 100% agreeance about the chicken-shit way some of these immature (and usually anonymous) cowards get off on saying things to you online they'd NEVER have the 'nards to say to a grown adult eyeball-to-eyeball. Killer stuff!

Personal attacks are never an appropriate response to a difference of opinion.

I liked both Tweak and Joshua Cook. Tweak is one of the characters on South Park who I like. I think it is also the name for cocaine use(?). Hopefully it was the former. Great rant.

    She even misspelled tries.

Joshua, That was a pretty mild rant. You must have cooled off. Your dog does not look very pleased with AC. My cat protests when I get on AC. She sits in my lap & trys to type hateful messages. Now that girl can rant!

Good points here . . . I think constructive comments are worth posting. Criticism is better suited to private messages. ;-)

Mr. Cook, I don't think that we agree on everything, but I agree with what you say in this "rant" if not the way you say it. One thing that the Negative people may not realize is that all of their vitriol makes our page views rise and adds to our credibility. I am more concerned with the spammers than the slammers.

Tweak! I haven't been writing for a while. When I looked at my list of favorite CPs I didn't see Tweak there. My clue was your picture. As always, a witty read that is right on the mark! Until next time!
