Associated Content: Every Writer - From Amateurs to Professionals - Can Get Paid and Published

BIRD NAMED JEFF
I have been an Associated Content content producer now for just over a month now. I'm not really sure if I really fit in here. It seems most Associated Content producers are freelance writers or editors by trade - something dealing directly with writing. I have never worked as a freelance writer. I would like to. Truly I would. Associated Content is likely the only place most of my material is ever going to be used and published. I feel good about a few of the articles I've written. Here are two you can check out Robert Gates Tapped to Replace Rumsfeld and Top Ten Gift Ideas for That Special Spouse. I have more and would love to hear from everyone - anyone for that matter. Be nice to know someone besides myself read my articles here on Associated Content.

In my profile I state that I would like someday to be published in a major magazine. Maybe publishing here in Associated Content will help lead me on that path. For me it seems content is something I am struggling with. When I am not on my computer I have lots of ideas floating around in my head. But the minute I try to put those ideas in writing they vanish. I've even tried writing them down in a notebook so I can review them and write about them later. But I seem to get writers block the minute I start.

Writing for Associated Content is interesting really. After all where else can someone with little to no experience with writing get paid for writing. And to make things even neater - everyone that uses a computer or surfs the web can read what I have published. For me that is almost as good as publishing in a major magazine or newspaper. Maybe in someway better since these reaches potentially a larger base of the population. On the other hand writing web content articles can be more work. When writing web base content we have to be aware of "keyword density." That is something new to me. Most of the people I've talked to outside of Associated Content that have as much experience at writing as I do had never heard of keyword density before. Some understood what it meant, as did I. But most have never used it or had a reason to be concerned about it.

I like the money I can make doing articles for Associated Content. It's not enough to brag over and no where near what I could make if I could get published someplace major. But for those of us that desire to develop the skills required Associated Content is a perfect starting place. Like so many other content producers here I am hooked. Even if I never get an offer from a major publisher, what I do here is fulfilling. Between the money they pay and the fact they publish my articles what more could I ask of Associated Content - ok that might have to be something for a different article.

The other content producers I've communed with here are great. Two of them have a great sense of humor and are great writers. They are all among the top producers in Associated Content. It is really an honor (to me anyway) that they share so much information with everyone in the forum. I have learned more from them then I could ever offer in exchange. Maybe I'll have to name my next child after them as repayment for all their help (since my girlfriend and I are not having anymore kids it will have to be renaming the cat after them).

My first article for Associated Content was Protecting yourself against internet schemes. That article had a purpose far greater then the title implies. It was what I thought I was getting into when I joined Associated Content. I truly and completely believed that this whole thing was a scheme. After all joining was free, they wanted all this personal information (full name, address, phone number, etc). Giving it out online was totally against everything I had said in the above mentioned article. If you don't believe me check it out for yourself. I said not to do exactly what I was doing when I joined Associated Content. To my surprise they not only published my article, but paid me. I had to set up a Paypal account to receive that payment but its there - its mine for when ever I decide to take it out of my account.

Ok so what did I do after that first article was published and paid for? I got excited and started thinking and writing more stuff to be published here. I was hooked and saw a chance to finally get some experience writing. Now here I am - yet again - writing something more for Associated Content to publish and even more so to pay me for using it.

I guess I really should explain why I'm sharing all this about Associated Content with you, the reader. Well a number of reasons. For starters its in hopes you check out my content and let me know if what I write is good reading. But mostly it is my hope that you either email this to the would-be writer friend or family member you may have in your life or that you take advantage of what Associated Content can offer you - the writer. There is a writer in all of us and with a little practice and support that you can receive here you could be on your way to the being the next Hemingway.

Most people that know me know that I am called Bird by my friends online. It comes from my nickname that I have used online for most of the last 10 years - flyingbird65. I have used that nickname in Pogo.com...  View profile

Its shameful really that I am also promoting my own content here. There are so many great writers - but only one Bird ( *)>

It's so nice to read an article praising anything! So often, people rant and criticize in their articles and I wish that was not so prevalent. Good start here. Your positive attitude will go a long, long way. It draws good things to you. Keep on writing!

You're doing great Bird! I just read your burn article also because I can relate. I wasn't burnt as extensively as you (3rd degree on both arms)but was nearly worthless for the several months it took new skin to grow. You've got a great attitude about things.
