Associated Content Featured Local Contributor: Shana Dines

Shana Dines is proud to announce that she, aka me, has been accepted as a featured local contributor. Granted I do not exactly know what that is going to entail but I am willing to give it a shot. I finally decided that I would apply, after all I do know my area. I also was a little sick and tired of seeing all of these other featured contributors and I was not one of them.

I know in the past it seemed that those with high page views were featured, and it honestly didn't seem fair when I began to see many with much lower page views than I had. I know that many of them are great writers but I was a teensy bit miffed when I was never featured. It wasn't important that I see my mug in the featured contributors because I am not that wild about my appearance. I did want to see myself though because I can't help but think that if you are featured that people may click on your writing out of curiosity. After all, what is it that they got that I don't?

I am pretty much a right brained person, so writing because I have to is not going to be easy. I am a free spirit and want to write as the spirit moves me. I also like to write when I am ticked off about some injustice or some insanity that riles me up. This will be good for me to be more disciplined. I hope anyway.

Whatever the consequences you all here, my friends and compadres, will be the first to know. I will let you know if it is worth the extra effort and if it will benefit you financially and page viewery. ( I know I made up that word.) I know that many of you are already featured contributors, so this is no big deal to you, but it is still a thrill to me. I have reached another goal, which is I now have over 800,000 page views. I plan on hitting my first million by the end of the year. I hope to keep the ball rolling. Thanks to all of my friends and fans here. I know I am not accepting an emmy or anything, but at least it was a good thing for me today.
