Associated Content Has Opened the Doors

Associated Content Has Opened the Doors to Notoriety and a New Car!

Roz Zurko
Associated Content opened doors for me that I never knew existed. In the first six months of publishing my stories on AC, I have appeared on NPR by invitation to discuss an article that was published on AC. Shortly after that came the thrill of having my articles appear on CNN and TMZ sites, along with so many other firsts for me. In the thirty years that I have been writing, AC has awarded me the most success.

I received an email one day from a producer who works for the Canadian Broadcasting Company. She had read one of my articles on AC and asked if I would come on NPR and discuss the article. I honestly thought it was a scam at first, but much to my surprise it was not. The CBC rented a studio in my area and the interview took place via satellite connection. When I was asked to do this in the first place I was honored, but when I found out I was going to be paid more than I usually make in a week at my full time job, I was floored.

It just kept getting better, like the two mornings I received the emails telling me my articles were on CNN and TMZ. The first time this happened, I thought I must have gotten very lucky, but it has happened several times since then. It is not luck, it is the exposure that AC provides. A famous retired golfer emailed me and to say a few encouraging words on a story I had done about Tiger Woods. The Connecticut Post Newspaper, one of the biggest circulated in that state, did a column on an article I wrote on AC about Milford Ct. The article was a nostalgic piece about the days gone by. The column generated many wonderful comments and made me very proud to have my family and friends in my hometown see it. The article became very popular after that column and it is still viewed often, months after it was first published.

Along with all the notoriety that I have achieved, all thanks to AC, they pay me for doing this! Each time someone reads one of my articles, revenue is generated. For each one of my pages that gets viewed, I get paid. I can also make money before an article reaches the Internet in what is called an upfront payment. I make enough money each month from writing part time to pay for a new car payment and still have money left over.

The community of AC staff and the other contributing writers have been overwhelmingly welcoming and helpful from the first day I appeared on the scene. AC has set up an ingenious communication system involving the staff and contributors. A question does not go unanswered for long; there are many venues to go to for help.

I am very thankful for the opportunity I have been given at Associated Content. This unique people's media has changed my life. I am writing to a large world wide audience, which I thought I would never have. Last night more than ten thousand pages of my articles were viewed and there have been nights in which more than double that amount has been read. I am fairly new to AC; this has all happened in six months time, not years, just six months to become this successful. All the viewing information is registered every day on your writer's page along with stats on each individual article. You know every day how much has been earned and how many articles have viewed. It is all done for you and easy to get to with just one click!

I have heard from people all around the world who have read my articles. England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and India, are just a sampling of the countries that people have left me comments from. This part amazes me the most, the audience that AC reaches. To be part of something this big and this far reaching can be overwhelming, but it's a real good kind of overwhelming like winning the big lottery!

Wow that is very cool Roz. I think if anything this is what I am looking for at AC, the chance to get noticed, even more than making money directly on AC. It's well worth writing on a site that is frequented by other writers, you never know who you might meet - or who might be reading you.
