Associated Content Served Yahoo Style: Part 5

Don't Miss Sabah Karimi's Exclusive Interview with Luke Beatty, Associated Content's Co-Founder and President

Han Van Meegerin
Not all Associated Content Contributors visit the AC forum or are on Twitter. Therefore in case you are unaware, on May 21, 2010 Sabah Karimi an Associated Content Contributor conducted an exclusive interview with Luke Beatty the Co-Founder and President of Associated Content

First, let me congratulate Sabah on securing this interview. As a proven and successful interviewer she got the job done. I encourage anybody that is interested in Yahoo, Associated Content or both to read the interview that she conducted Luke Beatty.

Second, I am pleased that Luke Beatty stated that all of the Associated Content staff team will be joining the Yahoo team. I am excited for all of the AC team, but I am extremely pleased that AC Darnell, AC Brenna and AC Heather will remain in our midst.

I have no intention of stealing Sabah Karimi thunder, but I would remiss if I did not mention one other component of the interview. It is deals with the discussion of the Associated Content website closing down which I have been writing about the last couple of days.

"SK: Is the Associated Content site really going to be shut down by the end of the third quarter? If not, what can we expect the site look like in a few months?

LB: No. As you can see from the plans we've outlined, we're definitely not shutting down! That report from the AP has since been clarified. As for what the site will look like in the next couple of months, you'll likely see improved profile pages, new content templates and a lot more to choose from in the Assignment Desk. Beyond that, it's hard to say, but I'm confident that our community will be excited about what they see - and we'll be collecting feedback the whole time to make sure we're on the same page."

I thank Luke Beatty for coming out and addressing this matter and clarifying the specific question as to whether Yahoo would shut down Associated Content's website once their acquisition of Associated Content was completed in their third quarter. It is true that the initial Associated Press report was clarified. However, because there are two different Associated Press Reports currently circulating the internet and it was creating confusion, I thought it was important for senior officials from Yahoo and Associated Content to either separately or collectively to clarify this point. Luke Beatty could not have responded to this question any more authoritatively than he did with his word "no."

Without further delay, please allow me to direct you to Sarah Karimi's exclusive interview with Luke Beatty. It can be found here:

Interesting. My PVs have gone up rapidly re recently posted stuff, but I, and others, have noticed that older pieces hardly get any hits at all now.
