Associated Content is Still the Best Website for Extra Pocket Cash
A Comparison of Several Sites that Pay for Articles
Sometimes they even let their writers know what content they need the most and offer a set price for every submission on that topic. Payment is made via pay pal and they pay you right away, there is no waiting til your account reaches a certain amount. All in all a pretty cool deal if you ask me. So how do some of the other sites measure up? Here is my take on a few...
Helium Knowledge - So far I have made $1.50 and you can not retrieve that until my account hits $25. It's an odd system in my opinion. You write articles and then rate articles. I feel no real gratification with this site. When I rate their articls so much of what I am reading is, well, fluff. Some people write one sentence, even at that at times the one sentence makes no sense. They offer their writers little reward in my opinion. They claim that the higher your content rating the more you make, I have yet to see it.
Universal Class - This website works a bit differently. They provide an opportunity for people who specialize in given topics the chance to teach an online class through a writing a series of articles. You get paid based on those who sign up for your class. You have to put alot of work, and I mean alot of work into creating the course before you even know if it will be accepted let alone know if anyone will sign up for it. You have to create content, tests, resources, etc, and all without knowing if they will even accept your course. Reading the fine print in the very long contract made me jump ship. I felt like I would be signing away the rights to my knowledge, and lots of it. I have read through forums that there are people making money with this site, but keep in mind it is based on the popularity of your content and the interest in your subject matter.
Writerlance.com - On this site people post opportunities for a writers on particular topics. Writers then submit a bid and some basic information and try and win the job. There can be up to 20 or more bids so lots of competition here. To me the time you waste seeking opportunities and bidding for the job you could write a few solid articles for Associated Content and get paid.
Triond.com - One of many sites that offers revenue sharing with their writers. You can only submit exclusive articles to them, and there is no guarantee you make a cent. They place your content, articles, video, etc, on appropriate websites and then you receive 50% of the advertising revenue. There are many Blog websites that work on this exact principle.
What works for some may not work for others and to a degree its matter of personal taste, but in my book, Associated Content is still the best opportunity out there for aspiring writers.

Post a CommentI agree with you, Suzie. AC is the best site to write for in my opinion. But my revenue has been quickly going up each month on triond and helium too. Netscape is a good social bookmarking site that will give your work more coverage and page views to help you reach the minimum payout for helium.
