We've all heard it a million times. Obama has a nasty habit of playing class warfare with his repeated ad infinitum assertions that "the rich don't pay their fair share of taxes." Almost 5 years after Obama began his run for the presidency a major news source has decided to vet the anointed one on his class warfare talking points. Guess what? Obama's talking points are nothing but lies, at least according to the AP who were clearly in the tank for Obama up until now.
As the article states, Obama has offered "Middle-class families shouldn't pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires. That's pretty straightforward. It's hard to argue against that." And if it were actually true Obama might have a point.
Here is some of the data the AP revealed:
In 2009, 327,000 households filed tax returns claiming more than $1,000,000 in earnings. On average those filers pay "29.1% of their income in federal taxes." Filers who reported incomes of $50,000 to $75,000 "will pay 15% of their income in federal taxes." Obviously the "millionaires" are paying nearly double the rate of the 50K to 75K filers.
The facts reveal a vastly different reality than the one Obama repeatedly offers in his incessant electioneering. And to further make the factual point the Blaze reports "Lower-income households will pay less. For example, households making between $40,000 and $50,000 will pay an average of 12.5 percent of their income in federal taxes. Households making between $20,000 and $30,000 will pay 5.7 percent."
Add in the National Taxpayers Union numbers that demonstrate the top 1% of tax payers pay almost 38% of all federal taxes collected, and clearly Mr. Obama has a real problem with telling the truth.
To drive the final nail in the coffin of Obama's totally untrue talking points, these figures are from the IRS itself. Seems someone is being rather dishonest in their reelection rhetoric. And even more foul than a dishonest politician is one who is attempting to place American's against each other by pitting one group against another. Of course I shouldn't be surprised...the politics of class, race and special interest are the sum total of the art of politics as practiced by the Democrat Party of late.
A "new and different" kind of politician? A "uniter?" The only "hope and change" this guy is after is his hope to irrevocably change the US into a full blown, Western European style social democracy. Needless to say, this clown has got to go!

Post a Comment@Heywood...."By the way, why did you need to be so hostile to me? I'll reserve judgement because if you thought I was directly commenting on YOUR article, that would explain the hostility." EXACTLY. If you were referring to the original article, then I retract my attitude. By all means I am open to discussion; I thought you were trying to play me so I attacked. My apologies.
I put all my articles on DISPLAY now especially since I found out that AC does not share all the non exclusive or exclusive articles with their associates! They pick and choose which ones to share! I forgot who wrote an article on that! DISPLAY is my only option now! I am just too paranoid about making mistakes and having them stay in cyberspace until Christ's return! Besides this way if I need to put more key words in my article then I can add them later or delete my article if I wish to do so. I was told that the only real way to make money on AC is to study the Key words!! Love to all my friends on AC
Forget the taxes and Obama's lies (we all know he flip/flops more than a fish out of water)..I want some of those $16 muffins. I bet they're gooooddd!
By the way, why did you need to be so hostile to me? I'll reserve judgement because if you thought I was directly commenting on YOUR article, that would explain the hostility.
I apologize Snidely I wasn't very clear.....I meant the article you were referencing by the associated press. The entire article is bunk the second he started giving percentages based on "gross income". Those on the far right that have been trying to discredit Buffet and his tax rate as lies or distortions of the truth, have in fact been the ones distorting the truth and worse calling Buffet a liar. Buffet was very clear about what his rate was based on. He used the words "taxable income", "dividend tax", ....etc. What Buffet said was 100% true. The part that keeps being left out was the Bush tax cuts were NOT even cuts across the board.
The jobs bill is exactly what Reagan did to get us out of the Carter recession. The only difference is that the tax rates on the weathy were higher after Reagans cuts, and this time around the cuts were made 12 years earlier and proved not to work as well as everyone on the right had hoped. Infrastructure spending is much different than the government spending to hire more useless gov. employees. Infrastructure spending directly helps the private sector companies. Gets money back in the middle class hands that are the engine that drive this economy. Demand hasn't gone down, it's a pretty consistant figure. The ability for the consumers to financially meet their level of demand has plummeted.
Thanks for the data, Whippy. These facts have been known for a long time, but the mainstream reports the one-liner lies that Obama puts out. The worst part is that gullible Americans believe them, then repeat the sound bytes with the authority of the 7 o'clock news. Pitiful! That the AP is reporting some of the painful facts is a good sign. But I'm not hopeful.
@HEYWOOD...clever name. Not original, but clever, or at least it was the first 50 times someone used it. NOW, show me where I, "the author" as you say, used the words "GROSS INCOME." SHOW IT TO ME! I never said "gross income." Not once! Your lame attempt to make me look uninformed and wrong is, like your clever moniker, an EPIC FAIL! Mayhaps you'll read an article and ACCURATELY quote it? Or ya can keep up with the clowning around, making, well, a clown of yourself. See friends...this is why I took a sabbatical...tired of dealing with folks who want to play games instead of manning up and dealing fair and square. But I forgot how much fun it is to CORRECT the lameazoids!
You guys should be careful of what you're reading. This entire article goes bad when the author uses "gross income" to figure the tax rates. Buffet is NOT lying. He stated very clearly that the 17.9% rate was on his "taxable income" which included a small portion or earned income from a small salary and from dividends which is most of his pay. Buffet is trying to tell everyone that the rule that allows him as a person that makes a living off of investments should NOT be allowed to claim the income as dividend income, but earned income instead because this is his JOB. This is not the average person's investment for a rainy day or retirement which is the purpose of the lower dividend rate. Buffet is NOT a job creator. The people this rule change will effect are NOT job creators. Please start trying to understand before you start listening to either party propaganda. If you don't understand what buffet is trying to say from the beginning....all of the other information is useless. Same goes for the changes being suggested. Come on people, I know you have to be smarter than this.
*************sorry for the double post...now if only I could delete it. What happened to that function? A lot changed during my extended sabbatical.
Pat, I did not mention Buffet, nor was I talking about the "Buffet tax" Obama proposed. Long, long, long before the Buffet secretary SNAFU, Obama was claiming the rich don't pay their share. Clearly Obama is not even remotely honest at all. He has claimed since day one of his presidency that the rich don't pay their share when clearly the evidence proves they are the ones who pay FAR MORE than their share. Nice try though to attempt to imply that anyone, myself included, who takes Obama to task for his repeated comments, is not reading the entire story. Clearly you weren't referring to me, right? And thanks for the welcome back.
