Do you own a Boston Terrior? Or perhaps wanting to add one to your family, here is some facts for you about the Boston Terrior.

The Boston Terrior are compact and well-muscled dogs, they are also called Boston bull. They have erect ears, large round eyes and a flat head without the wrinkles, and there snout is flat, you just can't help but think they are so cute, they also have very short fine hair, come in color from brown and white to back and white with very broad chests.

They were once bred to fight but todays Boston terrior is taught to be less aggresive, they are gentle and very intelligent well mannered dogs. My cousin has a tiny Boston Terrior and it is her child, she even takes her to doggy daycare everyday while she is at work and she takes her to the spa often to get spoiled not that she is not already spoiled by her owner, she is treated just like a baby.

This breed has a very good sense of humor and they listen to owners tone of voice they are very sensitive to one's voice, they are know to be very easy dogs to train and because they are very intelligent they seem to pick up things very easy and because they are affectionate dogs they are good with the elderly and children but I have noticed they get along with other dos but perfer to be an only dog of the family so they can get all the attention.

They weigh anywhere from 4lbs to 25 lbs and can be as tall as 15 to 17 inches.

Boston terriors are mostly inactive indoors and do well in apartments so they do ok without a yard but they seem to be sesitive to extreme weather conditions, some of the terriors seem to have trouble breathing in very cold weather and very hot weather and can overheat if pushed to hard but is that not true for all of us? You just to have limits and have common sense in any weather.

This breed often has trouble with skin tumors and some heart problems, and sometimes it can be how they were bred, some terriors that were badly bred can have brain growth and bone defects which would result in a retarded dog, just make sure you find a good breeder.

They are little animals so they do not perfer long walks but they do like to go everywhere with you abd they loved to be carried.

They are known to live about 15 or more years.

The smooth hair that is short is easy to comb, just brush with a firm bristle brush and bathe only when needed, but you do need to keep the eye area clean because the eyes are so prominent. This breed is an average shedder and the nails should stay clipped.

This breed is very popular in the United States because of its excellent charater. They do generally get along with non-canine pets, but some male terriors are more dominet and may fight with other dogs.

Some friends that own terriors have told me that their dogs are good watchdogs barging only when necessary while others do not bark at all when someone is at the door, I guess it is how you train them as with any animal.

Have fun with your pets and always love them and you will have a friend for life.
