Astrology: Health, Exercise and Your Sun Sign
What Are the Health and Exercise Concerns of Your Sun Sign?
Taurus (April 21 to May 21): Taurus is prone to having a slow metabolism that can lead them to putting on extra weight, and then having difficulties losing it. Without a steady exercise routine and a healthy diet, including non-processed fruits and vegetables, they can become like their symbolic animal, the bull: simply lethargic. Health-wise, Taurus is prone to neck and throat problems, including difficulties with their thyroid gland. Besides regular health care, Taurus can benefit from the effects of saunas and massage therapy.
Gemini (May 22 to June 21): Gemini's excess energy can manifest in spasms of nervous energy. In time, these worries will grind down the mental well-being of Gemini, and often lead to feeling burnt out. Gemini needs exercise to get rid of this nervous energy to stay at their optimum health level, both physically and mentally. The sign of the twins rules the health of the shoulders, arms, hands, and lungs; all of which Gemini needs to be careful of injuring or neglecting. By all means, Gemini should never take up smoking.
Cancer (June 22 to July 22): For the native of Cancer, anxiety is perhaps the greatest cause of illness, quite often manifesting as digestive issues and allergies. In general, their inherent stubbornness allows them to sidestep many minor colds and flu, and bully their way though major illnesses. Despite the homophonic nature of the name of their sun sign and the disease, and the fact that Cancer is considered the ruler of that particular illness, Cancers are no more prone to that ailment than anyone else is. Nevertheless, Cancers need to be aware of the possibility of skin cancer, especially those with pale skin.
Leo (July 23 to August 22): Leo rules the spine and heart; these are two of their body parts that Leos need to play special attention to. Cardio exercises which encourage blood flow, yet are low impact, are the best for Leo. If exercising with others, Leo's competitive nature can rear its head. Leo should resist pushing too much just to become the head of the pack; after all, sport injuries hurt. For Leo, preventive medicine is important, for their sun sign also rule the thymus; make sure to get all your inoculations and flu shots.
Virgo (August 23 to September 22): Virgo is another sun sign where tension and anxiety can trigger health problems. In the case of Virgo, which rules the stomach, these issues can manifest as a loss of appetite and digestive problems. These in turn can lead to headaches and migraines, skin problems and allergies: all of which Virgos are already prone to. Virgo benefits the most from eating whole foods, and may even want to consider adopting a vegetarian diet. As for exercise, Virgos are happiest when they can do it outside in the midst of nature.
Libra (September 23 to October 22): Libra likes good food and drink, especially when out with company. Because of this, they have a tendency to put on weight easily. The trick to getting them to exercise is to combine their workout with their social life: in other words, a health club and/or competitive sports. The sign of Libra rules the kidneys, and difficulties with them can lead to headaches.
Scorpio (October 23 to November 21): Scorpios resist seeing doctors; this may be because of the nature of the illnesses that they are prone to having. The cause of many of their ills start out as psychological blocks which manifest physically, such as bowel problems: constipation and hemorrhoids. Scorpios, due to their sexual nature, also have their fair share of sexually transmitted diseases. In old age, varicose veins will also leave them red-faced. Exercise-wise, Scorpios prefer participating in aggressive sports.
Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): Sagittarius is another sign that enjoys their food and drink, leading them to put on weight around the waist and thighs. Regular exercise is essential for them; diets, while an option, are never fully embraced by this sun sign. Sagittarius should be aware of their sign's rulership of the hips and thighs, and act to prevent accidents accordingly. Sagittarius also needs to watch the health of their liver.
Capricorn (December 22 to January 19): Capricorns are prone to a stiffening of their joints as they get older. The sooner that they start an exercise program focusing on maintaining their flexibility, the better off they will be in their old age. They may want to consider low impact exercises to spare their knees and shins, the body parts that their sun sign rules. Their skin, teeth and bones, for the same reason, need to be carefully looked after also. Capricorns should consider going to a chiropractor on a regular basis.
Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): Aquarians are dogmatic about pushing people towards the future, especially ones with non-traditional values where the needs of the individual take priority over the concerns of the masses. Due to their belief system, native of Aquarius frown on traditional Western medicine which they feel hands out too many pills and unnecessary procedures. They look more favorably on holistic medicine. Their health concerns include backaches, circulatory problems, arthritis, and ankle injuries. Their exercise routines are as varied as their outlooks on life.
Pisces (February 19 to March 20): Besides injuries to their feet, which their sun sign rules, Pisces also have to worry about stress. Anxiety and mental turmoil can lead to headaches and digestive problems. Stress can also result in Pisces believing something is seriously wrong with them when nothing is actually wrong: hypochondria. In general, Pisces react poorly to drugs and medications, both prescribed and recreational. They should also avoid smoking and alcohol. Exercise-wise, Pisces benefits the most from yoga and noncompetitive pursuits.
