Astrology How the Sun Signs React to the Holidays

How the Sun Signs View the Holiday Season

Aries (March 21 to April 20): Aries has been told that the most important thing about the holidays is being part of a happy family. Aries does not believe this idea because they have never seen their family actually happy during the holiday season; for their family, the holidays are more about bickering and arguing than harmony. The only time that Aries has seen their family act polite and get along is at funerals and weddings. Aries would rather spend the holidays with their friends.

Taurus (April 21 to May 21): For Taurus, the holidays mean a lot of hard work. At some point in their life, Taurus was taught that the holidays were all about perfection: the perfect meal, the perfect presents, the perfect appearances. Due to this belief, Taurus will be the model of moderation and good taste during the holiday season with one exception. Around their best friends, Taurus will relax and may even be able to laugh when the meal catches on fire.

Gemini (May 22 to June 21): Gemini struggles with balancing their own personal needs with those of their friends and family during the holidays. Gemini's family will be upset because they feel that Gemini is placing their work over their family. While Gemini's friends will feel hurt, they will understand the stress and difficulties of juggling busy schedules while making time to be with friends and family, for Gemini has chosen them as friends mainly because they can cope with Gemini's busy lifestyle.

Cancer (June 22 to July 22): Cancer sometimes suspects that the holidays will be the death of them. The stress of the holidays feels like a steamroller with the pressures from their family, friends, religious leaders and commercial interests piling up with endless demands on their time and energy. Cancer would just like to have a quiet meal with their family and perhaps play a game with their friends without the stress of having to juggle their schedule and going to the mall.

Leo (July 23 to August 22): It is a surprise to many people how quiet Leo is around the holidays. It is almost as if Leo is trying to lay low for the season. The reason for Leo being the model of temperance and moderation during the holidays is that Leo has watched too many dark secrets getting revealed when family members indulged too much. Those experiences will make Leo's most sober friends be the most appealing to hang out with during this time of year.

Virgo (August 23 to September 22): Virgo feels that the holidays were invented by the devil. Virgo feels chained to the traditions of their family and culture, despite not seeing the point of continuing the senseless rituals of the past. One must fulfill the expectations of others, even if one would rather be at work instead. Part of their despair is having to deal with familial headaches and watching their friends howl at the moon, both of which are painful for Virgo to deal with.

Libra (September 23 to October 22): Libra always has high hopes for the holidays. Libra imagines the holidays being filled with family harmony, peaceful religious observances, and interesting conversations with their friends: the type of holidays that would serve as an example that human beings can actually get along with one another. This is not what they get, for Libra often gets to witness the clash of familial and fraternal egos as the human race proves that it is just not ready to fulfill the hope of the holiday spirit.

Scorpio (October 23 to November 21): Scorpio feels that the best holiday of all is spring break or a trip to Las Vegas. The holiday season is a poor second as far as Scorpio is concerned. What is a holiday without drinking and deep dark secrets being the center of events? A boring one, Scorpio answers. Scorpio's family disagrees; they do not see why Scorpio cannot divert their energies into higher pursuits. Scorpio's friends tend to realize that great sinners and great saints alike are made from the same material.

Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21): The holidays tend to be a power struggle for Sagittarius. This is not what Sagittarius wants; it is merely what they get for the holidays. The problem is that often the familial frustrations and egos come boiling to the surface during the holidays. As Sagittarius deals with their family, they end up wishing that they were with their friends instead, friends who at least entertain other ways of looking at the world rather than insisting that their way is the only one.

Capricorn (December 22 to January 19): Capricorn's family has drilled it into them that the holidays are all about tradition and family. Their relatives insist that Capricorn gives them top priority during the holidays, often using Capricorn's past behavior as leverage to accomplish this goal. Capricorn usually gives in, despite the fact that they would rather just have a quiet drink with friends instead. Fortunately, Capricorn's friends understand that sometimes families run roughshod over a person, though they will also insist that their family is worse.

Aquarius (January 20 to February 18): Aquarius is of two minds about the holidays. On one hand, they do want to take the time off to relax; on the other hand, the time could be used for much better things---like volunteering. If Aquarius' family hears them entertain such notions out loud, they will ask Aquarius exactly who they think they are. It is not that they do not think that it is a good thing; it is merely that they think someone else should be doing it.

Pisces (February 19 to March 20): As the holidays approach, Pisces thinks about investing in some lead underwear. After all, they are going to have to deal with the advice of their family who will point out exactly what their behavior was like since the last holiday season. The advice tends to get so intense that Pisces wonders if it is not some form of radiation. Pisces wishes that they could just hang out with their friends over the holidays, for their friends are less judgmental.
