Astrology: Using Your Zodiac Sign to Find Employment (Part One)

Job Suggestions for the First Three Signs of the Zodiac: Aries, Taurus, Gemini

Lori May
For anyone who isn't living under a rock, the news that America is in a recession is probably much unneeded; most families don't need headlines to inform them that your average citizen is either struggling to make ends meet or worries about a potential struggle. I will be discussing the first three signs of the Zodiac in Part One of this series, including Aries, Taurus and Gemini.

For the millions of Americans currently unemployed, every waking minute is a moment with thoughts of job opportunities in the back of their mind. Although I will not suggest that these astrological tips will guarantee anyone the position of their dreams, I firmly believe in the expression that "laughter is the best medicine;" so please take this article in the tone it is intended: humor, and hope.

Zodiac Sign: Aries - the eternal optimist

March 21 - April 19: The people born under the sign of the ram have many things in common: determination, sheer stubborn ambition, and a child-like enthusiasm and optimism which can drive the most steadfast of hopefuls to question the ram's degree of confidence in the better tomorrow. Astrology teaches us that Aries is the 1st sign of the Zodiac, and the Ram is considered the "infant" on the Astrology wheel of signs. This explains something of their eternal optimism and often innocent outlook on life, plus the desire to always be 1st at everything.

The Mars-ruled members of our society should realize that their egos, and their tempers, can be used in their favor; careers which promote a healthy level of intensity and competition, such as practicing criminal law or professional sports, only encourage the fiery nature of Aries employees. Sales-based income positions can offer a highly profitable alternative during hard times, when career-oriented jobs are limited. Take caution against appearing pushy and argumentative with potential customers.

Zodiac Sign: Taurus - methodical and efficient

April 20 - May 20: Venus-ruled Taurus is a stubborn sign full of earthy delights; a sensual nature, steadfast determination, and an appreciation for the finer things in life. Their dedication to their careers, and anyone they provide for, allows them to be incredibly reliable employees to even to jobs most unworthy of the bull's tenacity. Astrology teaches us that Taurus is the 2nd sign of the Zodiac, and the Bull is considered the "toddler" on the Astrology wheel of signs. This explains a measure of the stubborn streak this Zodiac sign is known for, but also their youthful enthusiasm and ability to remain playful into adulthood.

Very few signs take involuntary unemployment as poorly as those born in Venus' spring. It goes against the nature of such a productive sign to be without a steady, scheduled flow of income - surely they have taken this recession hard. Positions which allow for a reliable, structured environment suit Taurus nicely. A place where their stubborn, fixed nature is a boon rather than a hindrance on the clock is to be advised. Clerical work, programming, or even positions as an instructor can work well for Taurus in any economy.

Zodiac Sign: Gemini - colorful balls of energy

May 21 - June 21: The Mercury-born people of Gemini are easily compared to songbirds: they chitter-chatter about, lighting from tree to tree, providing blasts of bright color and snippets of song throughout the day. Mentally, they have much of the same imagery; the Twins, more so than their fellow Air Signs, have an impressive intellectual appetite which leaves them with nary a moment of silence within their own minds. Astrology teaches us that Gemini is the 3rd sign of the Zodiac, and the Twins are considered the "child" on the Astrology wheel of signs. This explains some of their tendency to forever be exploring, seeking new adventures, while remaining somewhat fickle and flighty even into adulthood.

As such, the Gemini people seeking employment should realize they require much more mental stimulation and intellectual freedom in their optimal career than most; jobs featuring a high level of creativity, an ever-changing array of options, or a social element requiring a lot of communication with many contacts is ideal. Employment in advertising, customer service, or even teaching can suit the Mercury-born nicely and can capitalize on Gemini's natural affinity for verbal persuasion and quick familiarity.

The next installment will feature three more signs, namely Zodiac Sign: Cancer, Zodiac Sign: Leo and Zodiac Sign: Virgo, plus more tips and guidelines for using Astrology and the teachings of the Zodiac to find employment.
