Astronomers and Astrologers Puzzled

Five New Stars Appearing in August Have Astronomers Baffled

Rachel de Carlos
Today there was a lot of head scratching among the Astronomy and Astrology communities. Five new Rising Stars have appeared on the horizon, apparently named after Associated Content writers.

In backwards alphabetical order, because I feel for Roz who has gone through her entire life being listed last, these Rising Stars are: Roz Zurko, Jolynne M Hudnell, Rachel de Carlos, Lorraine Yapps Cohen, and Drew Bush.

In an unprecedented self-interview, Rachel, normally very quiet, had this to say:

I would like to congratulate the other four writers who are very deserving of this recognition, but also would like to congratulate all of those who were nominated by their peers as being outstanding writers. I'm so proud to be among these men and women who put so much into their writing just because they love to do it. It can't possibly be for fame and fortune, although that might be in the future for some.

In the 3 fleeting months that I've been writing for this site, what I haven't made in PayPal deposits, I've more than made up for in friendships, laughs, and sometimes tears. There are too many special people to list, so I'm afraid of leaving someone out and hurting their feelings. One of these people said that writers are a very sensitive group, and I tend to agree.

We aren't so quick to feel snubbed as we are to support each other's work, to shed a tear when there's sadness, to offer a shoulder, or an ear, or a hug. We'll have a laugh with someone, but not at them. There isn't a better group of people on the internet that I'd rather hang with.

To all of you, I tip my hat, and I tip my bottle. Whether you prefer sparkling water or tequila, the party's on me. Thanks so much for being wonderful friends!

Rachel, obviously emotional over the award, blew her nose in someone's hanky and was last seen wandering back to her computer.

PS. Had to tell you that this is additionally humorous due to a little backstory. One of the first funny articles I read by our beloved Maria Roth when we were both fairly new last fall was a list of suggestions for AC assignments "That Don't Stink Suck or Blow". And one of her silly ideas was to do a self interview! And lo, it has come to pass! Good job at it, too, Rachel. ; )

How bout some wine from Italy? A friend who is a pilot brought it back for me and I was saving it for a special occasion...I think this is special! Congrats on your well-deserved super star status!
