The Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is a 10.1" tablet with an LED Backlight WXGA screen that displays at a whopping 1280x800 resolution. One of the coolest features of this screen is that it can detect the use of 10 fingers being used at one time. The screen, also known as an IPS panel, is also capable of being viewed at a 178 degree angle without losing picture quality. It is also very scratch resistant. This is definitely one of the best screens in the business. The dimensions of the tablet are 271mm x 171mm x 12.98mm and it weighs roughly 680 grams. This is not the thinnest tablet, but it is definitely one of the lightest.

It uses the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor with a speed of 1.0GHz. It is a great processor for multitasking and HD video playback. The ever-popular Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system supports Adobe Flash 10.2 and creates an interactive experience which lets you view the Internet the way it's supposed to be while allowing for users to leave multiple apps open simultaneously without slowing anything down. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 comes with 1GB RAM and either 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. If neither of those hard drive sizes works for you, you can insert a microSD card into the microSD card slot and increase your capacity by another 32GB.

For connecting to the Internet you can use the built-in Wi-Fi technology, and if you have any Bluetooth devices they can connect wireleslly using the Transformer's Bluetooth 2.1 capability. There are two USB ports and a mini HDMI port which is perfect for streaming content from the tablet to an HDTV or monitor. When it comes to cameras there are two of them. The first is a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera which is perfect for taking videos and pictures of your friends and family. The second is a 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera designed for video chatting. You can shoot and record high definition video and play it back in 1080p if you connect it to an HDTV. There are also a large number of sensors built into the Transformer. There is a G-sensor, light sensor, gyroscope, e-compass, and GPS all built in. They've got you covered when it comes to sound, too. The Transformer has 3D stereo with max bass response and SRS premium sound. A lot of gimmicky names I know, but it does mean that you're getting quality sound from your tablet.

Perhaps the coolest feature of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 is the full QWERTY keyboard that comes with it. This keyboard connects to the Transformer wirelessly and greatly enhances your ability to get some serious work done. The keyboard has a number of ports in it as well which furthers its usefulness. There is a 40 pin connector port, 2 USB 2.0 slots, an SD card reader, and a multitouch touchpad. Another great aspect of this keyboard is that it increases the battery life of the Transformer. Without being plugged into the keyboard the Transformer has a 9.5 hour battery life. But when it is plugged into the keyboard this battery life is increased to a whopping 16 hours! That is by far the best in the industry, albeit it has to be plugged into an external source to do so.

There are a bunch of nifty pieces of software and features that come with the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101. Piggybacking on the potential usefulness of the Transformer to businessmen is Polaris Office 3.0 Polaris Office 3.0 is a professional mobile office solution which lets you view and edit .doc, .xls, and .ppt files. What good would a full QWERTY keyboard be if you couldn't open up any of these documents? Use Polaris Office 3.0 to get some serious work done during your long commute to and from work, or on the plane to an important meeting. MyCloud is a service that lets you access content anywhere, anytime through the use of cloud computing. You get one year of unlimited Asus WebStorage with the purchase of the Transformer, and the option to extend that service for a fee once the year is up. Not only does this expand the capacity of the tablet, it lets you access files anywhere you have an Internet connection. MyNet is a similar idea to MyCloud. It lets you stream media wirelessly within your home network to any device connected to the home network. These devices include HDTVs or PCs. Stream content from your Transformer to your HDTV, or from your PC to your Transformer, without the need for a single wire!
