The Eee Pc has some great features. One is Multi-touch, which is based off of Apple's multi-touch. Multi touch is integrated into the Eee Pc perfectly. As you may have guessed, you can zoom into pictures in the same way that an Iphone does. But it can not only zoom into pictures, it can also zoom into websites and text files. It is great to be able to zoom in an out of a website. Sometimes there's that sentence on the site that is too small to see, especially if you are old. You can literally just zoom into it with the touch of your hands. The Eee Pc also features a webcam and a microphone. This is very useful for people like me who chat all the time. It is a 1.3 megapixel webcam, but my friends tell me that the quality looks great. Now I can videochat on the go without wires everywhere. I have to admit, the mic is not the best, but it works. The Eee PC has many more features, but these two have been the ones that have influenced me the most.
The Eee PC has a 900 mhz cpu. It is not made for gaming but it can run some basic games such as Counterstrike, and it runs pretty well. It is actually a lot more powerful than most people think. Of course it is not going to run Call of Duty 4, but if you are getting this laptop, you probably aren't planning on plying such games anyways. It will run everything you need for business and school though, and probably anything that isn't strong on graphics. Versions 900 and up can run Windows XP, rather than Linux, which is great for obvious reasons. It is really a great computer for pretty much everyone except hardcore gamers and graphics designers.
The Eee Pc is not flawless though. One thing that bothers me is the keyboard. It is very tiny and really isn't that good. Sometimes it feels like you pressed a button, but you really didn't. The spacebar has to be hit in the center for it to work. These problems are probably caused by a ventilation system under the keyboard. They use this thing instead of a heatsink to reduce noise, and it works. It is dead silent when I am using it at night in my room. It doesn't get that hot either. I can put it on my lap without it burning my skin off. Now that I think of it, the keyboard is really the only fault there is to the Asus Eee PC.
All in all, the Eee PC is a great tool. It comes as no surprise that it is starting to sell really well. I mean, of course the main selling point is the size and portability, but it can do much more than other laptops that are built for that. It is perfect for business and school, and perfect if you travel. I would recommend the Eee PC to everyone. Even if you already have a powerful computer lying around, this is great for just surfing the web on the couch, or typing up documents on the go. The price just makes this product unbeatable. They even went the extra mile and added a webcam and microphone. I really have to give it to Asus, they made a great product that everyone could use.
