Asylum Seeker Who Killed 12 Year Old Girl Allowed to Stay in the UK

Iraqi was Due to Be Deported but Now Allowed to Stay

Yet another bizarre case occurred this week, where a foreigner is being allowed to remain in the UK, even though he was due to be deported back to his native Iraq, and was responsible for the death of a 12 year old girl who he hit while driving a car without a driving license.

The man, 31 year old Aso Mohammed Ibrahim, was driving the car that hit the young girl in 2003, and as a result was banned from driving and jailed for four months.

He tried to claim asylum in the UK, the claim was rejected, and he was arrested by the UK Border Agency last year and placed in a detention centre.

In April this year he won an appeal against being detained while another appeal against his deportation case is being processed, and was freed by a judge.

On the 16th December two senior immigration judges rejected an appeal by the UK Border Agency to have him deported, stating that this would infringe his human rights, under Article 8 of the Human Rights Act, because on his release from prison after the car accident, Mr Ibrahim met an English woman, and they now have two children.

What is not being taken into consideration, apart from the suffering of the poor girl's parents, is that Mr Ibrahim has had further convictions since that date, including driving while disqualified and without insurance, possession of cannabis and cautions for criminal damage and burglary and theft.

In 2006, which is three years after the fatal crash, he was convicted a second time for driving while disqualified and without having insurance.

In 2009 he was also convicted of harassment, damage to property and theft.

But despite all this, the man is still being allowed to remain in the UK and will not now be deported.

Although the media has not stated anything, no doubt the man is unemployed as well, therefore the UK tax payers will be picking up the bill for his unemployment benefits, as well as housing benefits and child benefits.

Sometimes it just makes you wonder where the justice is.

This is just one case where an alien is being allowed to remain in the UK for human rights reasons.

There are a number of Muslims who have been convicted of plotting against the country but have succeeded in their appeals against deportation because they might be killed on return to their own countries.

So the UK taxpayer is left with another bill to keep these people in the country, when if justice was to be served, they ought to be sent home and suffer the consequences of their deeds.

Once again, the Western world shows our fear of hurting someone's feelings. I agree with you Tony, these are criminals and, especially the one you wrote about, has proven he has no regard for living lawfully in the UK.

I just don't get the UK sometimes and I'm British. This guy is a SCUMBAG. It's not like he only killed the girl in a tragic accident, he has a string of robberies, break-ins, driving with a suspended license etc. He should have been deported years ago. No wonder the UK's crime rate is out of control. It's from many idiot decisions like this.

How tragic for the nations that they can not retrieve these criminals to face justice. And to have the U.K. foot the bill is even more insulting. Its strange how, even in the U.S., foreigners have more rights, i.e, diplomatic immunity, than the nations own citizens. Great work.
