Taking a warm bath will relieve stress and prove to be relaxing. Soak in the bath with a cup of decaffeinated tea and soon you will be ready for sleep.
Tip #2 Reading a long and uninteresting book or paper in dim light.
When you focus on reading a boring book or paper that does not hold your interest, your mind will relax further. Couple this with dimmer lighting than usual, and your eyes will tire. You can substitute reading for watching an uninteresting TV program if you choose.
Tip #3 Sleep with an Eye Mask and Soothing Nature Sounds CD.
Sleeping in compete darkness will keep you from becoming distracted by shadows brought on by the dimmest of light. Focus your ears on the soothing sounds of waves, rain, or chimes.
