At the Railway Station in Delhi

Vira
I sat on the platform No. 1 to see the passing trains waiting for my train to come and see. My mom also sat along with me. The sweltering summer heat of Ernakulam was hard to bear. Beads of sweat rolled down my face, "how long to stand I thought"

Earlier I had visited Ernakulam for an exam conducted by the International Airports Authority. Then the train had arrived on time and there was no hiccups either. Thinking that there was no need to enquire about which platform the train would come we just sat on Platform 1. This time I have come for interview and there was no one to drop us at the railway station, so we came one hour earlier my mom and me. Now we are waiting for the Train to turn up.

The wait seemed endless. The train was never coming. There was another Delhi bound train in the 1st platform where we were waiting. It was 1.50 p.m. and the train was to start at 2 p.m.

Ultimately fed up with waiting I just walked to the "May I help you" and asked the railway person" When is the train to Chennai coming" He looked surprised and replied "Madam the train is about to leave in another 5 minutes from platform no. 2. See it is waiting there". Blood started rushing to my head, in another 5 minutes up the overboard steps and to the train. It is impossible we will surely miss the train I thought. I called out to my mom, I shouted at her to bring the bags. I rushed towards her grabbed the bags and started climbing the stairs. My mom at 55 could not keep pace with me. Atlast, we reached just in time the train was about to start.
