Len had thought about keeping the other desktop just for the memory card, but when we were in Office Depot, we saw the Ativa SD/SDHC Memory Card USB Drive.
The colors they had were either orange, or red, but I am sure that it comes in other colors too. Len initially bought one, but I wanted one for my Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 laptop. When I am at home I can look at, or transfer my photographs, and video, with the cable.
However, I am going to England this month, and thought that this would work great for me. What I do is take the memory card out of my digital camera, pull off the cap on the right side. Here is where I insert the memory card, and push it in, as far as it will go. I then take the cap off the left side, and put this end into the USB port.
You know that it is working because a bright green light flashes, and then stays on.
My programs come up on the laptop screen, and I click on the one I want to use. I then can have a slide show, email the photographs, save them into whichever drive I wish, or do other options.
On the packaging it states that this little gadget reads, transfers, stores, and writes. It is three inches x one inch in length, with both caps on. We use it with our SanDisk 2, 4, and 8 GB memory cards. These do not come with it.
We purchased it at Office Depot for $9.99 + sales tax. It states that it is an Office Depot brand product. It is 100% quality assured laboratory tested.
The system requirements for using it are:
Windows ME, 2000, XP, Vista, Mac OS 10.1.4 and above.
I have purchased a Disney digital camera for my 6 year old grand-daughter, and an adult one for the twelve year old. Both of them will be getting an Ativa SD/SDHC Memory Card USB Drive as well.
For any other information you may require go to www.officedepot.com or telephone 1-800-GO-DEPOT.
This is the easiest computer, camera, product you will ever buy. I didn't need Len's help to use it. No messy cables to worry about, just insert the media card, and push it into the USB slot, and you can have fun with your photographs, and videos.
Checking the Office Depot website they come in red, orange, black, green, and blue.
