ATLANTA AREA SCHOOL for the DEAF 2009 FALL FESTIVAL SCHEDULED

October 2009. Clarkston, Georgia. It is known as one of the largest events in the Southeast: "The Fall Festival is the highlight of the academic school year. Students, parents, staff, and community members always look forward to a fun filled day of games, vendors, and good food," Kenney Moore, Atlanta Area School for the Deaf School Director says.

"Our fall fest is a favorite November tradition for area families," said Dona Harris, School Social Worker and Vendor Coordinator. "It's always a hit with kids and this year we have something new for visitors of all ages-an indoor market with merchants offering jewelry, apparel and home décor items as well as fresh bakery goods and produce."

Younger children will enjoy the inflatable slide and jumper, and old-fashioned games like the cake walk, bean bag toss and ring toss.

The activities are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 7^th, 2009 at the AASD CAMPUS, 890 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, Georgia 30021.

Parking will be available at the AASD parking lot.

Entry to the Fall Festival is free. Activities and food are available through the purchase of tickets.

The money raised will help support current special educational projects, sports activities (boys and girls basketball teams, track and volley ball) the Parent Involvement Program and community based Sign Language classes. It also will help to purchase gym equipment, computer software, a River Tank, etc., as well as subsidize special activities such as educational trips to Washington D.C., and the McDowell Environmental Center in Alabama. Our future projects will involve the Robotics Club, Reading programs, and the Parent Resource Center.

Mr. Moore added, "We are proud to have an elite group of sponsors this year to make our Fall Festival a success. It seems as if AASD's Fall Festival gets bigger and better year after year!"

One of the early supporters of the Fall Festival is AirTran Airways, Vice President of Marketing, Tad Hutcheson said, "AirTran Airways is pleased to be a part of the communities we serve, and we try to do our part in giving back to those communities," Mr. Hutcheson adds. "We are proud to support the Atlanta School for the Deaf and the fundraising efforts to help support the great work they do." AirTran Airways donated a pair of two roundtrip ticket to any destination as one of the Raffle prizes in the festival.
