Sometime Friday morning an altercation took place at Redd's Hampton, Georgia home with an unidentified individual who is alleged to have threatened the life of the hip hop producer.
Feeling his life was in danger, Redd retrieved a personal firearm and allegedly shot tand killed the unidentified man. Sometimes later, Redd turned himself into Georgia police.
The Black Urban Times spoke with a jail official this evening that requested his name be stricken from this article. The jail Sergeant stated that Redd was booked into the Henry County jail at 12:17 p.m. Friday, January 1, on a charge of murder wherehe is being held without the benefit of bond as he awaits arraignment.Redd is scheduled to appear in court Saturday morning.
Henry county is a suburb of metropolitan Atlanta. Redd is a successful producer with hits like Jeezy's "Who Dat," and is said to have changed the face of hip hop with his deft touch on rapper Snoop Dogg's hit record, "Sensual Seduction". Redd has worked with a bevy of artists including Gucci Mane, Maceo, Drumma Boy, Big Kuntry King and T.I.
