The DeKalb Farmer's Market is perhaps the most popular farmer's markets in Atlanta and certainly in DeKalb County. It's been a fixture here since 1977 and every few years more and more vendors participate here to reach the ever-growing market of customers who shop this place. These days, shoppers will find a lot of imported foods from Thailand, Japan, Peru, etc. And there is always a competitive choice for the freshest locally grown foods like peaches and nectarines as well. As this market has grown it has also added areas that sell meat, seafood, bakery goods, and even wine, beer and more.

Green Market at Piedmont Park
The Green Market will be held 9:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday in the spring and summer, May through October. It's located at the 12th Street and Piedmont .Avenue entrance to the park. The Green Market has stalls selling fresh local produce and herbs, local fresh cut flowers, bakery goods and cheeses. In the specialty products are included natural beauty products like lotions, cream, and cosmetics, and lots of hand-made arts and crafts by local merchants. Their chef demonstrations are very popular and patrons can shop to a background of live music. After shopping, people can take an historic tour of the park and also partake in the Park's bi-monthly Saturday Safaris for the kids, for a really fun-filled family shopping trip.

The Atlanta State Farmer's Market is right next to I-75, at the second exit south of I-285 on the south side. The exit is titled "Forest Park / Farmer's Market". This is an early shopper's market and people should get there as early as possible in the mornings on weekdays-even as early as 5:30 or 6 am. This market is only open until noon on Saturday. The stalls are open on Sundays as they are every day, but the other areas are closed then. If people want to actually buy from the farmers themselves take care to come at these times. This place is truly huge and the variety of absolutely fresh-picked produce here is astounding. On 150 Acres, this place is where lots of restaurant buyers and grocery owners come to make purchases, it's become that popular. It is one of the largest farmer's markets open in the world!
