Being we live in a small rural area the choices of Internet service providers are limited to say the least. I did some researching and found that there are two Internet service providers in our area, they are Wind Stream and Atlantic Broadband. We decided to go with Atlantic Broadband for our Internet service provider.
Signing up for Atlantic Broadband Internet service was very simple. They offer the sign up process on line ,which I found very convenient. They whole process to sign up with Atlantic Broadband took around five minutes. They allow you to choose the date and time that best fits your schedule for the installation. When the technician from Atlantic Broadband came out to the house he was very polite and seemed friendly enough. He asked a few questions about where we wanted the Internet cables installed and how much cable I would need. This was a great thing for me since I like to rearrange my desk every so often. The whole installation process was only twenty minutes.
Now would come the true test, would I have a reliable Internet service? We use V.O.I.P phones in our house and need a reliable and stable Internet service provider. Not to mention when I am working from my computer I don't want to have to deal with being disconnected every few minutes. Atlantic Broadband has met my needs. I have not had any problems with their Internet service. I find it very reliable and have not had any issues with being disconnected.
Atlantic broadband offers three levels of high speed Internet service for the home user. They are a starter, preferred, or a max package. The difference is the speeds that you will be able to utilize.
1.The starter package offers speeds of 320k for uploads and downloads. They also offer you two email accounts, as well as a free security program that consists of anti-virus, firewall, pop-up blocker, and spy-ware protection. The cost of this package offered from Atlantic broadband is $29.95 a month.
2.The next package Atlantic Broadband offers is the preferred. You can expect speeds around 3MB for downloads and 320k for uploads. They include five email accounts and the same security program that comes with the starter service. In the preferred package from Atlantic broadband you also receive 10 Mb of storage for your personal web page. The cost of this package is $45.95 a month.
3.The final package offered from Atlantic Broadband for the home user is the Max Internet service package. This is their fastest .They offer speeds of 5MB for downloads and 512k for uploads. You will also have 10 email accounts and 30Mb of storage for your personal web page. They include the security program that is offered with the other packages as well. This packaged is offered from Atlantic Broadband for $55.95 a month.
If you have Atlantic Broadband for you home cable company you can get a discount when combining the high speed Internet service with a cable package. This can be a great savings if you need both services anyway. Atlantic Broadband's customer service is top notch as well. The wait times on the phone are very short, I have never had to wait over 2 minutes. Their representatives are very friendly and polite. They are also very knowledgeable about the Internet service they provide. If Atlantic Broadband offers Internet service in your area I would recommend giving them a try. I have been very pleased with them. I have the preferred package and instead of the 3Mb they say you will have I have speeds well over 5Mb. Atlantic Broadband's services and customer service are an A+ in my book.

Post a CommentSince Atlantic Broadband has upgraded to Pronto e-mail, I have been closed out almost every time I try to use my e-mail account "time has expired" message immediately appears. This only happens on one of my 3 computers. Never happened before the upgrade.
I HATE ATLANTIC BROADBAND! Every time I need to report a service outage, or an error message or anything, it takes me six or seven phone calls to them to get service. Their people NEVER show up when they say they will. They re-schedule appointments with out telling me. I would rather go to the DMV than deal with them!!
Nice thorough review. I don't think this is available in my area, but you did a nice job of providing info.
