The Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort is located at the southern most end of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Many people saw this as a drawback, claiming it was too far away from the more active area of the boardwalk where the majority of other casinos and hotels are. We, on the other hand, couldn't have been happier to have a much quieter place to stroll the beach and sight see.
We walked the entire length of the boardwalk and back in just a few hours, and that included taking pictures, shopping, and stopping for a quick lunch. We found the more populated, northern area of the boardwalk, a bit too busy for our liking. If you're looking for a more laid back, relaxing time, you simply can't beat this location. However if you want to go casino hopping, or want in the mix of the party, you will definitely want to pick a hotel on the northern end of the boardwalk to avoid walking a distance back to your hotel. That being said, you can always take a very enjoyable ride on the rolling chairs for an extremely affordable price to avoid the walking as long as it isn't too late.
The food offered at The Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort was pretty decent for a hotel. We went at the beginning of what was considered off season and not all of the restaurants were open though. This was a small drawback for us, as we did want to enjoy the different cuisines. We were still able to enjoy dinner every night and felt the selection was good, and the pricing and servings were more than satisfactory.
The Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort offered one of the biggest rooms we have ever stayed in for a deluxe room. We requested a room with a view and the higher the better. We were very impressed with the spacious layout and the beautiful view of the ocean through our window (that was almost as wide as the entire room).
The large king size bed was a little bit too large for me, I kind of felt like I was in a sea of bedding. It did take some getting used to as well since it was a traditional spring bed and we are used to a memory foam mattress at home. I believe most people would love the roomy bed however, and we just snuggled closer to accommodate for the extra room.
The bathroom was one of the greatest parts about this room, apart from the large ocean view window of course. It was very roomy and looked well kept up with. We had more than ample counter space, double sinks, and a very relaxing Jacuzzi tub. The only oddity about the bathroom was the ancient hair dryer that is included. It worked, however, and much faster than my regular hair dryer actually, so I have no real complaint.
We had the opportunity to run both the air and the heat during our stay as it was raining when we arrived and very chilly on the first day. The room stayed a comfortable temperature and there was no noise from either the heater or air conditioner. Figuring out how to use it did take us a couple minutes, but once we learned the operation it was very easy to adjust.
We also had no qualms about the television, remote, safe, or refrigerator that is included with the room. The television worked great, as did the remote to work it. The safe was easy to operate and had ample enough space to put my large purse in it when we went to the casino. The refrigerator kept our food and drinks cold and didn't leak or make any noise. The only thing we didn't have a chance to try out was the phone as we had our cell phones and never needed to make a local call.
The casino was easy to get to and we felt had more than enough variety of games to keep us interested. We stuck to the slots and didn't bother with the table games though. The slot machines worked well (some are very loud nonetheless) and we never had any problems operating them. The casino floor was well kept and everything was explained to us very thoroughly when we asked any questions. We didn't win any large sums of money but witnessed other people who did.
Overall, The Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort was very pleasurable for us. I cannot think of a reason to not return, or even a real complaint. I loved the elaborate chandeliers, the statues, and the greenery decorating all the open spaces. Our check in and checkout was fast and painless, the staff was accommodating and pleasant, the rooms were spacious, the view was fantastic, food was pretty good, and the price was incomparable to the other hotels on the boardwalk.
