I ordered the Atlas 150 pasta maker machine and when it came I was both excited and nervous. Something about teaching an old dog new tricks kept coming to mind. I took a deep breath and started to open the shipping box that the Atlas 150 came in. Lehman's certainly did a bang up job on shipping my machine. It was well protected and shipped without damage. I found the Atlas 150 box. Oh boy, I was excited now!
The box was rather smaller than I had expected. But I opened it and there was the shiny new Atlas, just sitting there waiting for me to take her out. The Atlas 150 is made in Italy. The box states "Beautiful and completely safe because it is the only Pasta machine totally produced with materials which do not release any harmful metallic residue." Made entirely in Italy by Marcato S.p.A.
There was a little pamphlet like book that was filled with instructions for MANY languages. And, it also had pictures across the bottom of all the pages. I found the English version and started reading. I actually read it through twice. It was late in the day and I didn't want to start a noodle project then. So, I slept on it.
The Review
The next afternoon I grabbed the instructions and a cup of coffee. Had my table cleared off and the ingredients waiting. I took my time and I did it the way the instructions told me and the way that the pictures showed me. The results? FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!
I look back on how nervous I was and laugh. IF you read the instructions a few times. IF you look at the many pictures provided for the step by step use of the Atlas 150 pasta maker machine. IF you take your time. You are going to find out, like I did, that the Atlas 150 pasta maker machine is EASY to use and gives great results!
My Atlas 150 came with a spaghetti cutter and a narrow noodle cutter. The fact that you can order other cutters for the Atlas 150 is a real plus in my mind. The Atlas 150 gives you so many choices for thickness of your pasta too.
So yes, even an old dog CAN learn a new trick. Whether you've made noodles (pasta) by hand before or not, this Atlas 150 pasta maker machine was even better than I anticipated. And I don't say that lightly. I do not get paid to make a good review for the Atlas 150 pasta maker machine. My reward is the family's delight with the noodles!! Pass the pasta please!

Post a CommentI just love my Atlas pasta maker. Have never failed me so far.....
A great review!
Sherry the pasta maker! Hope they tasted great.
You have to use flour liberally and put the dough through the machine several times. If ya cut corners you're gonna hate these machines.
My husband hates these machines.
I completely trust your judgment for its not biased in any way. Thanks for such a great review and a fantastic idea. Is it a conflict of interest if I buy this for Mother's Day, since its a win-win for me! LOL :-)
Never had any luck with these machines... even expensive ones. They break and I found them difficult to clean and maintain.
This review is right up my alley. My mother-in-law makes her pasta by hand also and my wife has the craft ;-) But no machine in either house..will def. put this on the list. Thanks Sherry!
