The only problem with this service is the cost, the clients have to pay $7,49 each month in order to download up to 5 songs, which makes this service expensive considering that there are other places that provide the same service for a cheaper price. Also, there is a great deal of places that offer songs for free, to be downloaded on mobile phones on the Internet. Some of them operate legally, some do not, but still there is no price to pay, and many people will take that alternative.
Still AT&T hopes that this service will soon become popular, and largely used because it offers a great deal of comfort.
eMusic which is basically based on independent artists will offer two versions of the song, a mobile phone version, and a full MP3 version for personal computers and laptops. Initially the service will only be supported by the a717 and a727 from Samsung, SYNC and the Nokia N75, other devices will be able to use this service later on.
Basing on independent artists, could cause a problem for eMusic, because this kind of music is not as searched as the popular music shown on TV and listened on the radio. This music also is evaluated by people that buy it as costing less than the popular one, and when deciding for what songs to buy, many will decide against paying for music that they are not sure will satisfy their quality needs.
People who want to purchase more than 5 songs, will be able to purchase a five song package for $7,50, also the AT&T clients that have an iPhone device can buy the songs from eMusic at $0,33 or even less, and transfer them using iTunes.
This service is in its early stage, but as said above it is predicted to become popular by AT&T and eMusic people, and a step in the future of mobile technology, which is in a constant development daily. The constant entertainment features that are added to it will make it replace in the near future the way entertainment is being offered to people.
