The Bhramari pranayama is the most suitable pranayama for attaining mental strength in terms of calmness and sharpness. While doing this pranayama, please sit in padhmasana on the ground, keeping your both thumbs in touch with the first finger, and resting both your hands on each knee. Keep your eyes closed and try to concentrate mentally between your two eyes on the forehead. You will be able to see some light there by doing proper concentration. Take couple of slow and deep breaths and be ready to start performing this Bhramari pranayama. Breathe in through both the nostrils till your lungs are completely full of fresh air. Cover your both the ears with respective thumbs and your eyes with the middle three fingers of each hand. Position your first index fingers on your forehead. Make sure to apply very slight pressure while covering eyes and ears. The second finger of your hand must touch the point between the eye and the nose from either side with very little pressure. Concentrate on your Ajna chakra, which is situated between your two eyebrows in the forehead. Close your mouth tight. Start exhaling slowly making buzzing sound of a bee with mental recital of " AUM". When the exhalation is complete, the bee's sound will stop. Repeat this exercise for around 10 to 25 times, depending upon your capacity. This pranayama is not a stress generating pranayama. Hence, it can be done for more time if you wish. However, if you will do this pranayama for a very long time, say for around 40 to 50 times, you will feel isolated from this world and there will be total peace in your mind. But, you may not be able to immediately switch over to your daily routine activities after doing this pranayama for some time.
