Attention All NBA Fans: Please Continue to Heckle LeBron James

Heckling Fan Fuels Another Fourth Quarter Explosion from James

Brian
Lebron James certainly has a way of making an ordinary game into one to remember. Wednesday night in Portland reminded everyone of that, especially one fan that was seated courtside.

Throughout Wednesday's game, both teams continuously struggled to find a way of putting the ball through the basket, and James looked out of sync at the start of the second half because of an ankle he rolled right before halftime.

Wow how things can change in a hurry.

With his team trailing by double-digits in the fourth quarter, James appeared to be exchanging words with a heckling fan seated courtside.

James continued to score 17 points in the quarter including a driving lay-up with 0.3 seconds left to help the Cavaliers to an 84-83 victory over the Trail Blazers.

In a matter of a few minutes, a game that seemed like any other instantly turned into one with a finish worth seeing again.

So this has me thinking, wouldn't it be cool to see Lebron being heckled every game? Think about what he could do for an entire game if he was being harassed from tip-off?

That is why I am hoping at every city Cleveland visits for the rest of the season; there is at least one fan brave enough to do this, because it really makes the games much more exciting.

Heck I even think the home fans should get involved in this, just dress some lunatic up in the opposing teams jersey and have a few guys buy him some beers and tell him to give James the business.

Can you imagine how a Cavaliers and (sorry New York fans) Knicks game can become if you knew some goof-ball was going to be there provoking Lebron?

I even think teams that start to fall out of the playoff race should have a heckle LeBron night just to boost attendance and see how many points he can score.

With all due respect to the Portland fans, they were not the first to try this act. Earlier in the month, two women during the Cavaliers game at Toronto tried this trick while their beloved Raptors were beating the Cavaliers only to see James score 24 points to help Cleveland win 93-90.

So lets all hail the Toronto fans for starting what hopefully becomes a nationwide extravaganza.

I guess the moral of the story is if your team is beating the Cavaliers, just leave it that way. Because if you mention it to James, he might remind you he has super human powers and send you home crying in your beer.
