Their substantial collections include more than 300 watercraft of various kinds, 65 inboard engines, 138 outboard motors, and almost 3,000 other artifacts of various descriptions. 1,000 Islands Museum

Originally founded in the 1960s, the 1,000 Islands Museum has since become the ideal vacation spot for those who want to get a glimpse of the history and culture of this unique area of New York. The 1,000 Island Museum houses three floors of various objects, including a permanent collection, a substantial research library, and the museum frequently sponsors a number of cultural events and festivals throughout the year. Thousand Islands Art Center

The Thousand Islands Art Center is the premier stop in the Thousand Islands region for those interested in the art and handicrafts of this area of New York. For those who are going to be in the region for some time, the Arts Center offers a number of art and handicraft classes, while those who are only going to be visiting briefly may want to stop by the Handweaving Museum, which houses a number of items related to 20th Century handwoven practices.
