Myra Museum and Grand Forks Historical Society
With its mission of understanding the history of Grand Forks and the surrounding area, the Grand Forks Historical Society has put together one of the best museums in the state of North Dakota. There are several exhibits to see at this museum, including the Campbell House, which features a number of historical items; the Myra Museum, which includes objects from the Ice Age to the present; and a schoolhouse featuring a number of items including schoolbooks, contracts from the 1920s and 1930s, and other similar education items. This is truly a fascinating and worthwhile North Dakota attraction.
North Dakota Museum of Art
If you want to get a taste of the rich art history and culture of this region, then you should definitely visit the North Dakota Museum of Art, which showcases the artwork for numerous local artists such as Mark Klett, Jim Dow, Kiki Smith, and Nancy Friese. They also showcase a number of pieces of art from Native American artists, and they frequently host touring and temporary exhibitions, which in the past have included "Shared Histories," "The History of the Future," and "Beyond Likeness."
Splasher's of the South Seas Indoor Water Park
Although you might think that you can't get any further from the beach than South Dakota, you should think again. If you're looking for a fun day splashing and enjoying the water, look no further than the Splasher's of the South Seas Indoor Water Park. Activities here include numerous waterslides, a hot tub, lazy river, kiddie pool, and Garbonzo's Pizza and Arcade. This is a great way to spend time with your family while also having a great deal of fun at a South Dakota attraction.
The Greenway
If you're looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the great outdoors, then be sure to visit the Greenway, one of the most beautiful and spacious attractions in North Dakota. The Greenway is approximately 2,200 acres of open land that houses a number of recreational opportunities including parks, a campground, golf courses, numerous walking trails, fishing opportunities, and a great deal more. Regardless of what you choose to do at the Greenway, you're sure to emerge refreshed.
