Huntington Museum of Art
Although it might surprise some to know this, Huntington is actually home to an art museum that is both entertaining and informative to visit. In addition to substantial collections of a variety of art objects (ranging from paintings to various types of material goods), this museum not only serves an important function in serving the local community (which is also served by the local university), it is also a great place to visit if you happen to be in the area. In addition to the artwork, the museum is also home to a conservatory, with a number of rare and exotic plants that offer you a glimpse into a variety of climates.
Pullman Square
If you are more interested in shopping and dining, then be sure to visit the bustling downtown shopping center known as Pullman Square. In addition to Empire Books, which is home to a substantial variety of books and magazines (including a number that deal with local interest issues), the shopping center is also home to a wide variety of eating establishments (such as Coldstone Creamery, Max & Erma's, and several others), they are also home to several boutiques. When you've finished shopping and eating, then you can simply sit in the central grassy area and enjoy the sights of a downtown that has managed to reinvent itself quite successfully.
Ritter Park
If you want to go out for a work and enjoy the outdoors, while still remaining within the city limits, then you should definitely pay a visit to Ritter Park, which is located on a substantial tract of land. There are numerous walking trails located in Ritter Park, which offers exercise-oriented people the chance to get out, stretch their legs, and get some much-needed exercise. One of the foremost and most engaging aspects of the park, however, is the rose garden . This enclosed area bursts into full and vibrant bloom every season, when you can see one of the greatest varieties of roses that you are ever likely to view. The sight and the smell of these wonderful roses is a great way to punctuate an afternoon.
