Fort Buford State Historic Site

Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site
This fascinating Williston attraction was once one of the busiest and most important trading posts in the area, and was frequented by several Native American tribes. The trading post has been reconstructed and now serves as an interpretive history site; you can see numerous personnel dressed in period costume during the summer months. Admission to this Williston attraction is free, making it a great choice for everyone to enjoy.
Frontier Museum
For those who want to get a close-up look at what life was like during the frontier days, a visit to the Frontier Museum is an absolute must. There are a number of things to observe in this historical attraction, including a rural church, two-story house, restored depot, country school, and a number of historical displays that range through various historical periods.
Missouri-Yellowstone Confluence Interpretive Center
This Williston Attraction, located just a half mile from Fort Buford, is an excellent chance to observe some of the great natural beauty that is a hallmark of the state of North Dakota. In addition to the magnificent views, however, you can also walk through the galleries of the on-site museum, which house a number of exhibits and artifacts detailing the history of this fascinating region, including the Lewis and Clark Expedition and the fur trade. Admission for adults is only $5, making this a very affordable attraction.
