Attractions at Old Tucson Studios Tucson, AZ

Old Tucson Studios got its humble start in 1939 as the site for the Columbia Pictures movie "Arizona." At that time the site was nothing more than a plot of dirt. Local carpenters and handymen were brought in to build the town and movie sets for the film starring William Holden and Jean Arthur. The studio went on to be the site for more than 300 movies and television series.

Movies and TV Shows

Movies that were shot on this location include: The Bells of St. Mary's (1945), Broken Arrow (1950), Gunfight at the OK Corral (1957, 1971, 2003), McClintock (1963), The High Chaparral (1966), Gunsmoke (1972-1974), Little House on the Prairie (1977-1983), Tombstone (1993) and The Wild West (2007).

Today Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, AZ is a Wild West theme park where visitors can step back in time to the old days of stagecoaches and can-can girls. An admission ticket to the park gives visitors a tour of the movie set with costumed actors greeting guests, re-enacting gunfights, dance hall musicals, stunt shows and Wild West shows. The studio is also available for rent for private parties and groups as well as corporate team-building sessions.

Old Tucson Studios put Tucson, AZ on the map for Wild West adventures. The studio is still in the movie business with current projects in production as well as being the site for the annual Halloween Production of "Nightfall", music concerts and sponsored events.

Nightfall

Nightfall is in its 21^st year of production and runs from September 30^th to October 30^th. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children aged 4-11. Group tickets are $20 and can be purchased online at Old Tucson Studio Online Tickets

Food and Shopping

Enjoy a piping hot slice of pizza at Phoebe's Wagon Wheel Pizza, sample some good old-fashioned BBQ chicken, ribs and cowboy beans over at Big Jake's Bar-B-Q or have a snack of nachos and a soda at the Grand Palace Hotel & Saloon. Dress up and be a saloon girl or cowboy for an old-time photo or shop for souvenirs at McLintock's Store or Olsen's Mercantile.

Music

April 1^st to 3^rd kicks off the Wild West days with rodeo riding, The Cowboy Music Festival and the Medicine Shows (a form of entertainment including trick shooting, rope tricks and feats of illusion). See the different types of coaches that were used in the 18 to1900's, meet real cowboys and movie actors in a real western town.

Prices:

General admission prices for adults is $16.95+tax for ages 12 and over, $10.95 for children 4-11, children ages 3 and under are free. Shows and tours are included in the cost of admission. There is an extra fee for food, stagecoach, train and trail rides. Discounts are available for seniors, Triple-A cardholder and military persons.

Hours of Operation:

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm from September through January 1^st.

Old Tucson Studios is located at 201 S Kinney Road in Tucson, AZ just off of I-10 at Speedway Exit. Follow the signs to discover the little 1800's town in the dessert.
