Attune to the Wiccan Triple Goddess

The Wiccan triple Goddess is not a mystical figure beyond our reach. She is the universal mother; the source of fertility, wisdom, love and beauty. You can come to know Her and easily attune to Her energies.

As the Wicca know her, the triple Goddess manifests herself in three different guises, all pieces of the whole. She is the maiden, mother and crone. She is symbolized in the waxing moon (maiden), full moon (mother) and waning moon (crone). As she is all things in nature, so the Wiccan triple Goddess is all three of these faces at once. Still, we can attune to Her singularly depending on the season and our need.

The Wiccan triple Goddess is more than a symbol. She is seen in the moon and all its phases, the deepest depths of the sea and the fertility of the earth in spring. She is all of these things at once and we can come to know Her through Her gifts.

To attune to the Wiccan triple Goddess, you may wish to perform a simple rite to Her. Wait until the moon is high in the sky and go out of doors. If this is not possible, stand by a window with the light of moon flooding in upon you. If the moon is dark, visualize it, large and white, looming above the earth.

Feel the energy of the moon, and the Wiccan triple Goddess. Let the light of the moon drown you, absorb you and become a part of you. Feel the Goddess in the night and all the earth around you. Let Her fill your senses and envision Her as She has revealed Herself to you.

You may wish to call to Her, chanting, saying a memorized prayer or simply speaking from your heart. Open yourself to Her love and She will surround you and bless you and dress you in Her light and love.

The general rite described above is a great way to begin opening yourself to the Wiccan Goddess energy and once you have become familiar with Her, you can attune with all three of her aspects. Go out of doors when the moon is waxing and envision the Goddess as the maiden. Call to Her, chant and/or pray. You might want to light a white candle to aid you as a symbol of the Triple Goddess' maiden aspect.

When the moon is full, go out of doors (or at your appointed place where you can see the moonlight) and envision the Wiccan triple Goddess in her guise as mother. Call to Her, chant and/or pray. A green candle is appropriate here to symbolize the Goddess as mother of all fertility and abundance.

To attune to the Wiccan triple Goddess as crone, wait until the moon is dark or waning and go out of doors. Perform the same actions as above to attune to the wise crone energy of the Goddess. A black candle is suitable for this rite to symbolize the darker side of the Goddess and her wisdom.

You may wish to perform a general rite to attune to the Wiccan Triple Goddess on a nightly basis. Or, you may want to perform a rite with each phase of the moon to become familiar with all of her aspects. The choice is up to you and nothing need be set in stone. The point of these rituals and meditations is to build a rapport with the Wiccan triple Goddess, to come to know, love and trust Her. Follow your heart and approach Her with love and humility. She will make Herself known to you.
