The petrol variant is powered by 211 bhp 2.0-litre TFSI engine which can achieve speeds up to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds. The diesel variant is powered by 240 bhp 3.0-litre TDI engine and which can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds. The engine is mated to a new generation of the dynamic 7-speed S tronic gear box.
According to Managing Director of Audi India, Mr. Benoit Tiers, "The Q5 is a testament to Audi's commitment to innovation and sophistication. The market for the SUV segment has seen tremendous growth during the last years in this country. Driven by our philosophy of 'Vorsprung durch Technik' (meaning 'Advantage through Technology', the new SUV will become a benchmark for style, performance, safety, comfort and driving dynamics in its segment. Q5 joins its 'big brother' Q7, while creating a new market for the smaller luxury SUVs."
Audi Q5 is seen with large single-frame grille, xenon headlamps with LED technology are some of its highlights. The compact SUV is 4.63 meters (15.19 feet) in length, 1.88 meters (6.17 feet) in width and 1.65 meters (5.41 feet) in height. Its proportions are slightly bigger than Mahindra-Renault Logan and when parked beside Maruti Suzuki Swift, its diminutive body is hard to distinguish its bigger proportions.
The Audi Q5 comes with a wide range of standard and optional features like Audi driver information system, the optional MMI (multi media interface), xenon plus headlights with LED technology, Bang & Olufsen surround sound, a DVD player, rear seat entertainment, 3-zone automatic air conditioning, cruise control, an acoustic parking system with rearview camera and many other features.
Loaded with luxury, the Audi Q5 has a starting price tag of Rs 38,29,000 for petrol variant and Rs 44,19,000 for the diesel version (ex-showroom Mumbai). Audi Q5 will appear with six eye-catching colors- Stratos Blue, Garnet Red, Ice Silver, Meteor Grey, Phantom Black and Ibis White.
The new Audi Q5 joins the entire Audi India portfolio and dealers across the country from June 4th, 2009 onwards.
