Audio Books, E-Books, Print Books

Audio books VRS e-Books, which is better? What are the advantages and disadvantages of either type when compared to print books? Some people feel that with the advent of books, which are downloaded, that the end of the printed version is near.

There are many places online one can purchase audio books, store sell the printed versions, and even more websites where you can download an e-book. Which is a better value? That all depends on a reader's personal preference, but there are pros and cons to both of these. Nothing compares with a print book to many people yet with the advent of these new forms of books, the printed version is loosing in popularity.

Audio books can be found online and allow the book lover to listen to the books they enjoy. The only difference is how those books are listened too. These books are played on either the computer or cell phones with the right software. Years ago, publishers came out with audio formats, which could be played on first vinyl records, then cassettes, and now people can purchase their favorite author's stories on compact disk. Stories, which are heard, allow much more freedom than the other types.

E-books come in many forms and can be downloaded as a PDF file and opened in a PDF reader. Some e-books have the doc extension, which will allow them to be opened in any word processor on your computer. The pros of these are that with either file extension the books can be shared. The draw back here is for the authors of those words who sell their books; in this form, sharing the words loses money for the writer.

Many department stores sell books of every genre but as the economy worsens book stores are failing in record numbers. Many mom and pop bookstores are gone and have been for years since the chain book stores came on the scene years ago. You can still however find print books in many places and there is nothing like curling up on a cold winter day with a good book. There are so many pros to holding a book in your hands and very few cons.
