Audrina, Justin and Lauren....WTF?!

T. S. Jones
Lights, camera, drama! First she loses her best friend to her worst enemy, then she had to battle sex tape rumors; now the tip of the iceberg has hit the S.S. Lauren Conrad. The rumor stew has brewed the unthinkable - Lauren has reportedly hooked up with Audrina's on-again-off-again boyfriend Justin Brescia aka Justin Bobby; in the famous words of Cher Horowitz, "As if!"

If you've been following MTV's hit reality show then you can see what Audrina should be seeing - the possibility of Lauren and Justin getting together are that of President Bush having a high IQ, not gonna happen! Why on earth would Audrina invest any time on something as bullheaded as this? She's supposed to be smarter than that. After many conversations we've seen between Lauren and Audrina, common sense would tell her that there is no way Lauren would ever betray a friend she fought to keep.

How do you go from Brody to Doug to Justin? That's not only a downgrade for Lauren, but it's also going backwards on the social scale. Not to take away from Audrina because she too can do better than Justin; he hooking up with someone shouldn't come as a surprise to her. For that someone to be Lauren should be the last thing she would believe to be true. She stated on her website that she's "not sure what to believe" despite the fact that they haven't be a couple for a while; mind you Justin didn't seem all that committed when they were. She finds the rumor to be "very confusing and hurtful."

You'd think she fed into the rumor that according to PerezHilton.com she learned from a friend of Justin's. The question is why should she be concerned about this? Furthermore, hasn't she done some dating of her own? It's interesting how this piece of news surfaces after Audrina moves out of the home she shared with Lauren and Lo. Even more so when earlier this month Conrad's antagonist Spencer Pratt was interviewed by Fox News where he said enough to add fuel to the fire. "My real prayers go to Audrina," he says. "She really needs it at the moment." For someone who would later tell Usmagazine.com that he had nothing to do with the viral spreading rumor, he sure didn't have a problem planting the seed. So it would be natural for Lauren to suspect him; everyone else has.

Lauren has denied any intimate involvement with Justin and with good reason. She never really cared for Justin but tolerated him for the sake of her friendship with Audrina. She posted a statement on her MySpace blog, here's a piece - "Once again someone has mysteriously called Perez Hilton and had him post another insane and completely false rumor about me. Hmmmmmm... I wonder who it could be? I'm baffled... What kind of person would enjoy watching blogs and the press tear me apart? Who is someone that I do not get along with, that possibly has too much time on his hands (between pathetically staged paparazzi shots)." And yes they are seriously pathetic.

Spencer was nothing more than a native California boy with a dream who saw an opportunity to gain notoriety by coming on the a scene as a wannabe player and putting his wedge between two best friends by manipulating Heidi and turning her life upside down putting her in an exiled position. Since moving in with her controlling and overbearing jobless (unless you count being the Heidi's manager a real job) boyfriend, Heidi's circle of friends has become minimal at best. It's plain to see that Spencer "The Brat" Pratt has too much time on his hands and jumps at any chance to contribute to tarnishing Lauren's reputation.

He says "I shouldn't be surprised that LC would choose to try and blame something on me." Of course you shouldn't Spencer, because a narrow minded, insecure, bleach blonde sasquatch like you has nothing better to do than create drama for other people to make yourself feel on top of the world and Heidi under your thumb. All this from the comfort of his couch where he must be working hard as a manager (yeah right) for Heidi and....that's it.

Lauren isn't one to have a hunger for the dramatics and misery like Spencer. It's a shame that Audrina would believe something as heinous as this. She should know better than to think that Lauren would betray her like that. If that's the case, why waste time trying to mend a friendship? Only time and the reality show will tell us what will become of this now rocky friendship.

I've been writing about the entertainment world for some time now. I enjoy the aspects of it, the ins and outs, and some of the drama is like a great reality show. My wish is to write for a few magazines and...  View profile
