Taste of Blue Ash 2007 & Free Outdoor Concerts in the Cincinnati Suburb
Red White and Blue Ash is the neighborhood's annual 4th of July celebration attracting many people from the Cincinnati Tri-state region to enjoy spectacular fireworks and famous, national bands. Although Independence Day is over, Blue Ash will continue to celebrate the summer of 2007 with festivities throughout the month of August.
Concerts on the Square begin at 8pm on Friday evenings at the Blue Ash Towne Square near the Blue Ash Bicentennial Veterans Memorial Park, off of Hunt Road, between Kenwood and Cooper Roads.
The free Concerts on the Square planned for August are:
Friday, August 3 - Saffire Express plays a mix of contemporary, classic rock, and country music.
Friday, August 10 - The Danny Frazier Band is an Americana Roots Rock band led by singer songwriter Danny Frazier.
Friday, August 17 - Ooh La La and the Greasers is Cincinnati's premier Rock and Roll Oldies band.
Concerts in the Park begin at 7:30pm on Tuesdays at the outdoor Amphitheatre in the Recreation Center Park off of Cooper Road, east of Reed Hartman Highway. The Amphitheatre is located next to The Blue Ash Nature Park, behind the Municipal and Safety Center. In the case of rain or inclement weather, the concert will be held inside the gym at the Recreation Center on Cooper Road.
Concerts in the Park are also free of charge and the ones planned for August are:
Tuesday, August 7 - The Klaberheads play a variety of music from traditional German songs to popular cover songs from artists such as Jimmy Buffet.
Tuesday, August 14 - U.C. Community Band is the University of Cincinnati's alumni and community concert band.
Tuesday, August 21- Sound Body Jazz Orchestra is an 18-piece group of Roger Bacon High School alumni who play a combination of big band swing and contemporary jazz music.
Tuesday, August 28 - Buffalo Ridge Band is led by banjo player Bob Adams and plays classic traditional jazz music.
Another free event is the popular, annual Taste of Blue Ash, scheduled for the last weekend of August. The hours are as follows:
Friday August 24: 6pm - 11pm
Saturday August 25: Noon - 11pm
Sunday August. 26: Noon - 9pm
Taste of Blue Ash encompasses the Blue Ash Towne Square area near Kenwood, Cooper, and Hunt Roads. A free shuttle service will be available from several locations such as Maple Dale Elementary School or the Blue Ash Municipal and Safety Center. Tastes of a variety of food will be available for purchase from more than 20 different restaurant vendors. A 'family fun area' will help keep children entertained. Live musical performances will take place throughout the weekend as well.
Wal-Mart is presenting music on the main stage, from famous nationally renowned artists each night of the event. Friday at 9pm features a performance by Grammy award-winner Peter Cetera. Saturday's 9pm artist is Dennis DeYoung playing the music of Styx. The folk rock band America will play on Sunday evening at 7pm.
Local artists will also play throughout the weekend on the Hunt Road Stage. On Saturday August 25 Holly Spears will play at 12:30pm followed by Ricky Nye & the Swingin' Mudbugs at 3pm. Sunday afternoon, August 26, features Firelight at 1pm, Mike Hemmelgarn at 2pm and the Woodwind Steel Band at 5pm.
Blue Ash is a small, safe community close to Cincinnati hosting special events as impressive as any large metropolitan area. August 2007 promises food, entertainment, and free family fun in the city of Blue Ash.
