August: Popular Cruise Time of the Year

Use These Tips to Find a Cruise During the Busiest Sailing Time of the Year

Heather Leigh
No matter where you plan to travel to on a cruise, August is one of the more popular times to go on a cruise. Many cruise lines have included August in their peak season, which may mean the cost of the cruise during this time of year may be a tad bit more expensive. However, this does not mean you should not take the cruise or that all cruise lines will be sold out. It just takes a bit of creative searching and enlisting the right help to find your perfect cruise vacation in August.

Travel Agents

Travel agents will have the inside track for cruise availability, special offers and the best destinations for that time of year. Take time to speak with your travel agent and go over all of your options and make plans for your upcoming cruise in August all in one visit. If you cannot find one, organizations such as the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) offers an online and phone service to help find an agent that will be right for you.

Online Searches

Travel sites such as Orbitz.com, CruiseMagic.com and Travelocity.com offer online search engines to help you find cruises during your desired month of travel. When searching with these or similar sites, you will be able to put in as much information or as little to find the cruise that will be a perfect fit for your travel needs. Information to search for your cruise may include when, such as August, destination and length of cruise.

Cruise Lines

If all else fails and you are unable to find a cruise in August through a travel agent or a online search, check with the individual cruise lines. You can check with the cruise lines directly by visiting their website or by calling their customer service department. Cruise lines such as royal Caribbean, carnival cruise line and Disney cruise line offer phone service to those wishing to search through their upcoming cruise log. Sometimes cruise lines only offer a certain amount of cruise vacations to be booked by through a third party and there might still be a chance to get a cruise in August by calling them directly.
