Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo Vs. Mane 'n Tail Shampoo

Barb Hacker
Which is the better shampoo? Does Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo beat The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo? This shampoo comparison is for those that have fine hair that is also dry. It can be tricky to find a shampoo that will truly give the hair extra volume that won't dry it out at the same time.

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo

Shampoo Ingredients

With eighteen ingredients on the label, some of them with frighteningly long chemical names, this shampoo seems less than natural. However, Aussie Aussome Volume shampoo contains hops, Australian white ginger extract and wild cherry extract. These natural ingredients make the user feel good about the product. Unfortunately, the shampoo also contains the artificial color red 4.

Scent, Texture and Suds

The Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo has a fruity scent and smells great. It is a transparent shampoo with a light peachy-pink color and has a thick texture. The shampoo produces profuse suds. A small amount of shampoo is needed to get the job done.

Shampoo Cleaning Power

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo leaves the hair feeling clean, fresh and lightly scented. The scent lasts while the hair is wet, but is gone by the time the hair is dry.

Hair Volume and Moisture Results

Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo does seem to give the hair extra volume without drying out the hair or the scalp. It is interesting to note that the best volume seems to be present the day after the hair has been washed.

The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo

Shampoo Ingredients

The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo contains only ten ingredients. According the Original Mane 'n Tail's website, the ingredients are all natural. They consist of an exclusive protein-based formula with amino acids.

Scent, Texture and Suds

Mane 'n Tail Shampoo is mildly scented. The scent is neither floral nor fruity. It has a clean, shampoo scent. Like Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo, it is transparent and also has a thick texture. This shampoo also produces profuse suds and a small amount is needed for cleaning the hair.

Shampoo Cleaning Power

The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo cleans the hair adequately and leaves the hair feeling fresh. It does not leave a scent, other than the clean hair smell. The hair does not feel quite as clean as it does with the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo, but perhaps it is the lack of scent that gives that impression.

Hair Volume and Moisture Results

The hair feels moisturized after shampooing with The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo. This shampoo is gentle and does not leave the hair feeling stripped, like many shampoos do. The shampoo also does not leave any residue on the hair. Because of this, the Mane 'n Tail shampoo does seem to give the hair extra volume, however it is not as noticeable as it is with the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo.

Shampoo Comparison Verdict

Both the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo and The Original Mane 'n Tail Shampoo are good, gentle shampoos. Neither leaves the hair feeling stripped of oils or over-cleansed. Those with dry hair will find that both shampoos are adequate and will not exacerbate the dryness problem. However, the Aussie Aussome Volume Shampoo wins when it comes to volume. This shampoo definitely gives fine hair a boost that the Original Mane 'n Tail shampoo does not.
