If you are looking to bd farewell to 2009 and bring in 2010 while in Austin, Texas, downtown is the place to be!

Join in the celebration thousands of other likeminded fun-seekers at this years First Night Austin celebration. Surrounding citys may offer their own fireworks displays, but First Night Austin offers so much more than simply scaring off the evil spirits with a bang. Live music, arts and multiple entertainment venues are a big part of the New Years celebration in downtown Austin.

There will be two fireworks displays this year to accomodate families that may want to tuck their children in long before the ball drops. The first fireworks display will go off at 7 o'clock pm and can be viewed between Lavaca and Colorado Streets. The grand finale and welcoming in of 2010 will be at 12 o'clock midnight. Make sure to bundle up and make your way to Auditorium Shores with plenty of time to find a spot to say farewell to the tumultuous 2009.
