Austin's Newest Celebrity Hot Spot

The celebrity hotspot over the holidays was Sandra Bullock's restaurant in Austin, Bess Bistro. Sandra Bullock dined with Ryan Reynolds, her co-star in 'The Proposal', on New Year's Eve with a slew of other friends. Just a few days before, on December 28^th, Scarlett Johansson and Drew Barrymore dined at the restaurant.

Although rumors have been flying about Bullock and Reynolds supposed love affair, sources from both camps say they are just friends. An observer reported that Bullock stopped by Johansson's table to say hello while she was dining. Bullock is friendly with Johansson and Reynolds even though they may not be so friendly with each other due to their recent split.

Located in the heart of downtown; Bess Bistro can be found on Austin's historic Sixth Street. The Stratford Arms Building, built in 1918, boasts the heritage of the location by preserving the brick columns, archways and iron work and adds a whimsical historic flair with solid pecan woodwork and etched glass.

The food at Bess Bistro defies description as it ties in Creole, Southern, health-wise recipes and whatever the chef fancies. Opened in 2006, Bullock has enjoyed success with her restaurant and even owns another business in Austin called Walton's Fancy and Staple. Just down the road from Bess Bistro, Walton's is a one stop event shop. With daily light faire in the deli, Walton's also includes a florist, bakery and catering services.
